My roto-start died on me, so I decided to use my Power Cable drill. It's on counter-clockwise and the fastest speed setting. It's still not as fast as a roto-start, but it was working. Right as my Force .26 sounded like it was going to start, it started freely spinning. I took the backplate off, and my OWB is cracked. Let it soak in WD-40, still didn't fix the problem obviously. Oh well, must be an old OWB right?
Maybe not... Just got a savage 5.9. I tried doing the same thing with the drill. It was working and getting close to starting with a prime. You know the socket the wand goes into on the backplate? The plastic around that broke off right as it was going to start. I don't think it's the drill since it's slower than the roto-start... Could it be me putting too much pressure on the backplate? I'm barely holding it there, though.
What am I doing wrong?
