Okay so after about 10-15 minutes on the track my SCT overheats and shuts off until it cools back to operating temps, my question is how can I rid of this issue with my CC SCT system? I have it currently geared @ 28t pinion on a 86t spur @ 48p. My neighbor told me gearing it down will fix the issue but not sure what to gear it at, its wicked fast as is, too fast IMO so I could cut some speed and be happy I'm not doing any triples or quad jumps so input on the matter would be great guys!

Thanks

I would drop down 2 teeth on the pinion and see how it does.

thinking about getting a 19-22-24-25t pinion so I can get it the first time without having to keep buying pinions, thanks for the reply rob :D

I would not change a thing for racing SC. Most qualifiers are 3 short 5 min long run times and the A main is 7 min ling on average. If you are happy with the performance write down the # of teeth spur and pinion combo for racing. Then change gearing for playing around the track.

As far as a fix for cool down and or longer run time then you are going to gear for non race performance. What I mean is in some cases you may slow the truck down in order to run cooler.

The best way is to go down or up 2 teeth at a time on pinion or spur. The reason I say this and not give you a # on the gear teeth is because there is too many factors involved, Car set up, tires, track conditions, weather how hot is the day, etc.

The beast way to set up based on bringing temps down for racing is to sacrifice one race which is 3 qualifiers and 1 A main with no intention of winning but as an aid in tuning the perfect tune for Temp. And Performance.

This way you will know for sure that when you bring temps down you are still spanking the pants of your competition with out the side effect of thermal shut down.

Based on the original post you may be at the optimal setting now.:first_place:

My scale truck had a 19t so I threw that in it and is perfect. not too fast but can still haul some bawls, I will try a 22-25t as soon as they get here in the mail. Thanks guys I appreciate all the input. If I ever consider racing SC I will take that in my notes
