As many know, I'm not a fan of MT's (well, except possibly the HPI Jumpshot MT), so, i typically end up converting my MT's to SCT's, and this time is no exception. I took this what i consider an overbuilt Stampede, and converted it to a Slash monster truggy (it is still a work in progress a bit though). The Stampede (the reason i call it overbuilt is because of the way it was when i first picked it up), has STRC (shock towers, front hinge pin brace, aluminum bulkhead), Hot Racing (servo saver, spur gear), RPM (transmission housing and spur cover) and Traxxas (HD arms, adjustable links, driveshafts, wheelie bar), ProLine (shocks, body) upgrades throughout. The only original stock parts it had were the chassis, steering links, and skid plates. When i got it, it had the black ProLine Ford body on it.

I cheated during the disassembly a bit. I just left the front and rear mostly complete, and just separated everything from the chassis.

Nice. You get the award for most pics in one post.

The "12MM to 14MM adapters for the wheels I'm using (Arrma Vorteks 3S)." caught my eye becasue I've ruined a few of the 12mm hex wheels and was thinking of switching to 17mm. Post back with how the adapters work.

I've used them before, and, they seem to work ok. I did break one, but, that was because the wheel I used had a somewhat rounded hex, and I didn't realize it before I put the wheel on, so, the wheel was moving around and cracked the adapter. I like the 14MM wheel choices more than I do the 12MM ones (mostly the Arrma and Duratrax stuff). The first time I used those adapters was when I bought a set of Duratrax that had 14MM, but came with there version of the 12-14MM slip on adapters. TBH, I won't spend the money to convert any of my trucks to 17MM, which is how the whole 14MM thing started, because, I can get Arrma wheels and tires from Jenny's cheaper most of the time than other MT wheels and tires from other companies, even Duratrax.

Nice! I use spray silicone to clean up existing parts when I do rebuilds. Makes parts look new even with wear.
120A hobby wing should make that truck do back flips.

It wont do wheelies or backflips because of the way it is set up. I'm running a 4300KV 3650, so it will do close to 40 on 2S, but, doesn't have a lot of low end, starting power, so, it wont do wheelies even if i was to start out in reverse, then slam the throttle forward. Most of my trucks are set up for big air, so i give them a lot of speed, but, not a lot of torque. Eventually, I'm going to experiment with HW XeRun 5656 4700KV motor i picked up, and see what that does in it.

I was just impressed at that ESC in a 2wd Traxxas! Being a big fan of 2wd Traxxas and the Stampede. My first RC was 4x4 brushless Stampede. I keep it is perfect repair mainly as shelf queen. (Body is not up to speed, on my list to fix) setting up a Bandit for drag racing (in theory) and have a Slash project that never gets attention.

I suspect you can get close to 50mph if you worked it some.

My brother runs this in his 2WD Slash: https://www.amazon.com/Hobbywing-30...t=&hvlocphy=9005776&hvtargid=pla-571800102183

And, I'm running one of these in a 2WD Stampede: https://www.hobbywingdirect.com/products/quicrun-wp-8bl150?variant=654322045 that was originally in a Losi TEN-SCTE (I now have 2 of these, in the hopes i can make one useable one), paired with a 3900KV 3650 currently.

My 4WD Slash runs the same ESC my brothers 2WD Slash does: https://www.rctalk.com/forum/threads/overpowered-slash-4x4.137995/
