Outer XL dogbones compatibility with 21 dogbones?

Anyone know if the dogbones to the wheels are compatible from the XL to the older savage?

I just snapped my first one in my savage and would like to run the heavier ones if they fit. The length looks right, but I don't now if you need the HD cups/axles to run them. I can't tell if the ball part is larger than the old ones by the photo's.

My buddy has an XL and i had an extra set of heavy duty savage 25 dogbones(the silver ones) and they fit lengthwise but didnt fit the cups,hope this helps ya.

Yep. That's what I was looking for.
Basically, I wanted to use the XL bones with old cups, but you've answered my question. I can't.
