OS ENGINE, which one for Evader??

do you really want to go with an .18? alot of power for such a small truck.

I'd recommend either a CV .15 (hyper version, or get a different head for it) or a CV-R .12/.15 - either one of those should have enough power, yet not strip the tranny on ya. Plus, if you get the GT version (short crankshaft, rotary carb), it should be a direct drop-in (from what I've seen on the forums).

OS .18 would work fine guys... Dunno what model you need... I'm not a duratrax guy...

good morning ppl
just a little info on the evader ,the mill that is in them from factory is indeed a OS mill made for duratrax they are not as powerfull as the .18 cvrx or the .18 tm ,but they are rather decent for a RTR mill ,and they are also covered under the OS 2 year warranty
i am not sure what the HP rating is for it but it does hold its tune just like all the other os mills ,
1 more thing if i am not mistaken OS quit making the .15 all together now they are making the .12 and .18's
also with the evader they are very prone to grenading the rear ball diff if not adjusted constantly ,if your running 1 i would invest in the upgraded metal gears and titanium balls ,alittle pricey but well worht it in the long run

how much power do you want?
enough to do wheelstands, will that do you?
if so buy an o.s. .12 cv-rx (s), the s stands for short crankshaft which is what you need for your truck.
these are only like $130 USD for shipping and all at www.towerhobbies.com

Dann

btw , my rusty wheelstands like a champ with on of these :)

cos the gearbox will cost him more in the end and its like having a 10,000 HP motor bike, you can't use the power ne-way.

NOOO, don't buy a cv-rx (s), the short crank is used in Associated and Traxxas trucks, for the Nitro Evader ST you need the standard crank. The DTX .18 is a pile of crap. Yeah it's made by O.S. but they used ABN construction instead of ABC to throw together a cheap RTR. The shape of the ports are also different. I have the .18 cv-rx and the difference is drastic as far as performance. If I would have known that I'd have gotten the .12 cv-rx. I have too much power for dirt racing. Also, if you neglect to adjust your diff every time you run you will burn it up. I've yet to blow one with routine maintenance. I also take it apart and inspect it every 15 tanks.

k, sorry bout the advice, thought all stadium trucks were short crank.
but I'm still tellin ya to get a OS .12 CV-RX

I wonder if I can buy the .12CV-RX piston and sleeve when my .18CV-rx needs a rebuild? I know they're the same block.

I'm not so sure about that, but look up the part numbers on towerhobbies.com and if they are then you can gat a 12 cv-r, but then i can get a 18 cv-r...... :D
