OS 21J Problems

Hey all,

I was recently gifted my first nitro rc with an OS V-spec II and 21j carb. Got the thing running after sitting for who knows how long but having some issues getting the carb tuned right.

When I fire it up rpms skyrocket. If I fatten up the lsn it will idle down for a while and then die. I've also fouled 2 plugs in the maybe 10 minutes total run time I've put into it.

I did find an air leak coming from a torn o-ring on the main jet but have since repaired and resealed carb to block and block to exhaust.

Since fixing those problems it seems to tune up a little better but still can't get it right.

I'm sure if I could get the thing to run a little longer I could figure it out but I don't want have to throw a new plug in every five minutes...

Any help would be much appreciated

If your glowplugs arent lasting long chances are you are running too rich. Try setting your carb to factory tune then go from there. I figured my glowplug problem was running rich but if I lean it out rpms are way too high. My idle gap is ok.
