The FP would not be the best motor for an R/C car. You can make any engine work if you know what you are doing but the down side with the FP and the later LA motors was that they were non ball bearing engines. These were budget/entry level engines. They dont like to be on/off the throttle, they like to maintain a steady RPM. Pretty sure this is due to the lack of bearings. They just dont run smooth.... I think they have some collector value now if they are in good shape.
