OS .18 on Nitro rustler?

Hey,

I was wondering if the OS .18 with the short shaft and the rotary carb would fit in the nitro rustler. :hammer: My brother wants to upgrade his engine in his rustler and it has the os .15 cvrx with the short shaft and rotary carb, so would this be a direct drop in? If so, could someone suggest some good gearing for the Nitro rustler. I believe he is using 18/72 and it has like no top speed, so would 21/72 give good torque and speed?

I appreciate the help.

Oh, i was also going to ask what someone could reccomend for some after market shocks too.

if it has a short shaft stock then it shoudl work... i dont recall what kind of shaft they have... the o.s. .18 is available in all shaft types so just get the one that fits accordingly... as for shocks my roommate has hotbodies threaded for at-maxx in the rear and stock nitro evader fronts... the combo works quite well.

it should be a direct drop in since the os18 is a small block, just like the os15

sweet... i will check it out. I'm rebuilding my brother's nitro rustler, he is ready for more power... so in turn he will get that along with some durability upgrades. Rpm a-arms, new shocks, probably some rpm bearing carriers in front and rear... Thanks for the help.

In my opinion O.S. engines are some of the most reliable RC two strokes out there. O.S. carbs are some of the best. That explains why some of the best racers use o.s. carbs on modified Italian engines. I have a O.S. .18 CV_RX that runs flawless. You will not be dissappointed in your Nitro Rustler!

I have the OS .15 CV-RX in my MT Racer and I like it a lot. If I ever fry it I will go to the OS .18. Not till I fry it as it only has .15 HP more then the .15. OS has great motors. :shrug: :boxing:
