Hey Guys,

I started my Christmas shopping a little early this year. My LHS had a 25% off sale this weekend and I couldn't pass it up. I ended up ordering a pair of Slashes, minus the radios and recievers. I got a hell of a deal, and I didn't pay much more than what one Slash would cost. I still have the brand new radio and mico AM setup out of my ERevo that I can put in my stepson's, and I am sure I have a reciever laying around for mine. My stepson is going to flip this year! I am so excited. I know I ended up buying one for me too, but I figured this would be a good truck to start teaching him how to wrench on and for the price I just couldn't resist. I have a real good feeling the aftermarket will be kind to this platform and I hope to be able to hop up our trucks together. He is so ready for a "big" RC as he puts it. He has beaten the hell out of his 18B and the only thing I have had to replace was a wing mount (that was broken while I was playing with it!) and a new set of rubber since he wore the spikes off of his first set. I hope he will be happy with it. It looks like a real fun truck to drive.

I know I probably should not have gotten one for myself.... in fact I know my wife isn't going to like it, considering I just bought an ERevo in August. It just looked like so much fun, and really inexpensive, I just had to have one too.

Congrats. With all thats been goin on, I'm pretty sure shes gona kick ur ass.

:hehe::hehe: There's no doubt! But I like the saying: "It's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission".
My wife hears that all the time. Hey Tom, maybe you can build your new house out of the boxes from the rigs. :D

Well, she knows about the one for our son.... she just doesn't know I bought one for myself as well. That is what she will not be happy about.

Lessen.... If I get to build my own doghouse.... I am building a mansion!

I guess we have all been there.

I paid less than 2 bills for it... I just couldn't help myself.. I have a sickness.

Congrats Tom! The Slashes are fun and tough little buggers. Tell the wife the 2nd one is for HER. Duh!

Thanks man!!! I sure hope so. After seeing the thread that Ed posted of you guys racing them.... sealed the deal!

I could try to tell her it for her... but knowing my wife she would say thanks and turn around and sell it!

Congrats on the new rigs I am sure your son will love it, and you of corse, don't know about the wife though, but I am sure she will get over it, just tell her how much money you saved, Oh and I didn't know you could buy a Slash with out a radio, I thought they only came RTR, that would make it more affordable and I have an extra radio laying around...

All ya gotta do is argue your point like a woman; explain that there was a sale, and you couldn't resist. If she can't see the logic in that, then you my friend, have a woman with a broken sale-sense.

Exactly.... "How much did you spend?" and reply "Well I saved..." without ever answering the question:D

You are correct. The Slash is only sold as an RTR. My LHS sells a lot of Traxxas stuff, so they don't mind taking the radio gear out and selling it seperately. They get alot of folks that destroy the RTR gear and do not want to spend the extra money for a better set. Works for everybody! They get gear they have no problems selling, and I don't get stuck with another Traxxas radio to go along with the 5 I have now! LOL

My wife should have been a Lawyer, instead of an engineer!

Eh, just tell her you got your own Christmas present this year, which saved her the hassle of trying to find that 'perfect gift' for you........you just found it!! :D
