The XO-1 from what I can piece together (For some reason Castle doesn't like to be very straight forward with specs for a lot of their products) comes with a Mamba Monster Extreme which as mentioned previously to me looks like an MMM with a large cap bank installed on it. I can't find any actual specs for it that are from any sort of semi reliable sources.

Also by all accounts I can find, the motor is a Castle 1717 which according to some websites the 1717 is a 1700kv motor, I believe it was Traxxas's website that claims its a 1650kv motor and Castles websites says the 1717 is a 1580kv motor. Id go with Castles Specs on this assuming that the forums where it talks about the 1717 being the motor that is in the XO-1 are in fact correct. The 1717 is 6mm wider but I'm assuming still has standard 1/8 scale mounting holes and its also 10mm longer. Not all that much bigger so Id guess that it could probably be made to fit unless the 2200kv is already a snug fit. I'm not familiar with the Flux Savage so I can't even take a stab at it.

A 2200kv is already incredibly powerful and again unless you're trying to do speed runs the 1717 would only benefit you by running cooler than the 2200 on the same gearing. You of course give up some top end speed for that but if you're just bashing it at the local gravel quarry, park, BMX track or where ever a cooler running slightly slower motor may actually be preferable. Overkill speed and power are fun but in the long run just leads to breakages quicker which isnt fun for anyone and can sometimes get expensive. So I guess its ultimately just about what you want your Savage to do. If you can mount pinions as Spurs on the Savy Flux as someone earlier stated then the 1717 may be the best of both worlds. Great, cool, dependable motor on reasonable gearing or a speed demon on crazy gearing. Just my .02 on it :)

The old 1717 at 1580 is discontinued. The new stock xo motor is still a 1717 but at 1650. The xo motor can be run off of a mm esc. The xo motor is bigger than a normal mm.

As far as the xo motor fitting into an emaxx I will let u know how it works on Monday :)

I'm building a twin ERCM picco savage, and planning a twin 2200kv flux

The twin picco will work fine...there's no point in building a twin 2200 flux. I've done it with an emaxx on 12s. All you end up with is a 20 lb truck that you can't do anything with but flip over and break stuff... its my biggest waste of money so far.

I know how to gear it to 1:1 or lower so I could run top speed runs. 12s would be nuts!

Like I said 12s which IMO is the only reason to do it was too insane to even run the truck. The weight along with nowhere to put the batteries and escs just made it even worse.

It doesn't work like that....when you add a second motor all you double is your torque not the kv/rpms.

Bro, if you can barely afford two 4S packs I highly advise you not to enter the realm of high speed RCs. Every wreck is big bucks. If you do however and your determined to run 8S 1600kv motor you'll need to find some way to get your gearing down as close to 1:1 as you can or even lower if possible in order to get speeds faster than a 2200kv. I had a special adapter CNC'd for my Rusty that allows me to mount spur gears as pinions so I can get lower than a 1:1 gear ratio on it. Now IDK what the current lowest gear ratio is for a savage flux with a 2200kv but you'll have to find out and then figure out a way to go lower.

Heres another idea for a wheel balancer. this one will accomodate any wheel from a 1/10scale on road car to a 40 series MT tire.

if i increase the pinion gear by alot like if i used a 34 instead of the 18 on both motors will it increase the speed without damaging the motor

it doesn't have to be 34
