LMAO! I did all the rest back in New York. I absolutely HATED Minnesota. One thing I noticed was that Minneapolis was an immaculate city. I mentioned that to someone back home in NY who suggested that it was too cold to open the car window to toss your trash. :hehe:

Minnesota has 2 seasons:

An extremely harsh Winter, and part of July.

Damn funny someone!!!

My kid wanted to go to Minnesota State (he wants to be a vet and they have a great veterinary school) until I took him up there with me last winter on a run. He decided Texas Tech would be good too...

I spent 2 years in central Texas. Loved it there.

What part? In the hill country? I lived in Austin for three. Sure do miss the lakes. My buddy had two Polaris 1200 jet skis and a pontoon boat. Think a 225 is overkill on a pontoon? Damn thing--my fat ass could even water ski behind that monster...

Hey Sir. Thanks for suck a quick reply. It does sound like a lot of people on here are putting a lot of effort into getting fuel shipped. I didn't see where you had posted any other messages to me. Anyway. That would be awesome if you got some on a bird up here to me. I'm living right on the flightline. I never thought about going through AAFES. It seems like soldiers could make request for them to stock certain things. Afterall they carry lighter fluid for the grill. But I know that supply and demand play a big role as well. Anyway. I hope to keep in touch with you here. And, I'll keep my fingers crossed for all of us RCers over here. Take care.

60 miles from Austin...Fort Hood. Yup, miss Belton Lake.

I hope we can come up with a way to get fuel over there. If there's ONE thing all of you need, it's a distraction from the tension that surrounds you, and what better distraction than running an R/C, and wrenching during down time.

I'm working on it, if only the weather would cooperate. I got another foot of snow last night. Woke up this morning to discover my wrought iron gazebo in the backyard collapsed into a twisted mass of metal from the weight of the snow. Grrr.

My brother is there at fob warrior

I am working on sending fuel to my brother at warrior. If yall have found a way to get it over there let me know. Otherwise I'm going to wait till the new year and make it happen somehow. I know that the guys in qatar have access to fuel readily. just getting it up to kikurk is the hard part.

CPT Vkirk, do you know anyone at TF AVCRAD? The main body is in Camp Arifjan. If you can get in good with any of these guys, they will help you out. The Ca AVCRAD is going to be there around the March/April time frame, unfortunately I will not be with them on this trip but I could give you some contacts of possible hook ups.

cptvkirk, a year of school in northern Minnesota taught me all I ever want to know about cold. 36 BELOW ZERO. I've been there, now I won't even fly over that state in a heated plane.

Haha cold in Minnesota, try to live in Russia for 17 years and then come to CALI lol i am in such haven. But i miss snow.:\

What unit is your brother in over here...if he's in my unit, don't sweat it...if he's not, let him know I'm building a kick ass (Iraqi standards) track out here in cav country and he's invited. ...Pm me

Well, I DID know some of them about 2 months ago. Spent quite a bit of time with them while sorting out the leave behinds from our sister squadron. Man, those steeds had seen better days. We're still fixing crap. Back on subject. Unfortunately, I'm terrible with names, decent with faces. I left for here just about the time I started figuring out who was who.

Sent you my contact on yahoo and a pm. Added to my profile. Hit me up cause Maybe yall can hook up and he can help your track project

If you are going to be there a while yet, I can get some possible help to you in a couple of months (doesn't do you a lot of good now.) I only know a couple of people from the 1109th by reputation.

I'm not going to get too wrapped up on this fuel thing. I'm going to see if the guys here can succeed getting any over here and how much, if not or I need more, I'll be going home for leave before too long and will have a case ordered to meet me there, I'll package it myself, cleverly, and send it to meet me back here when i return.

my next door neighbor just went back for the third time I'm thanking of sending him a car and a gallon of gas.

It's always the little things

That's pretty cool of you. Even if he thought to bring fuel, I'm sure he knows someone that can use it...but a card from a neighbor would be a very cool thing to recieve and whole car set up is over the top.
