Well I've seen the average back flip in videos and thought it was no big deal but for some reasons when I saw shorty's video up close of how back flips with with the accel/brake, I started watching tons and tons of flip videos. I've decided to learn how to back flip my storm. I'll use the same ramp fromt he fence jump just jack it up more vertical and just give it ago. I've seen it done with buggies but not much. Another question I'm wondering: What makes MTs so easy to back flip?

A few of you had negitive comments toward my fence jump, let me explain while i have time. It was joke about getting payback on the fence that killed RoadRunner's Storm, anyway If I back flip it would you be happy?

Forgot to add. I'll have video sometime soon. I'm gonna start Thursday and I'll have one landed and on tape by Saturday night.

Enjoy. Hope you break it as good as I can.
Learning form the best threw AIM. Your speechs should be enough to either help me land or break it damn good.

My guess as to why MT's can back flip easier is because they have more reciprocating mass (bigger tires to aid in the flip).
Maybe ??? Don't really know, just a guess.

What makes MT's so easy to flip?

Answer: The size of the tires!

Tires are gyros to a car in mid-air. Thus, the bigger the tire, the better the gyro.

Dont overlook the obvious with that statement either. It is also a requiement to have a mill pumping out at bare minimum 'decent' power, in order to get them to do their job and make it flip.

Trajectory off the ramp also helps a great deal. Ramps with lips will make it easier while long flat ramps make it harder.

And lastly, height. One must achieve good height to even attempt it.

You'll need a couple things to get it.

1) a tweaked mill the winds tighter than a 12 year old on a sugar rush.
2) a really stupid ramp
3) a soft landing area
4) a decent run in to the ramp.

here's a short sampler or these things.

That's 3 pieces of plywood ramped up on a picnic table in 3 stages. The last section is nearly vertical. Estimated height of the jumps, probably 15+ feet. To the best of my memory, nothing was broken during these jumps.

I have many skateboard ramps at my disposale. I plan on stacking my really steep kicker on top of antother dirt jumping and just going balls tot he walls. Hey, even if I dont make it, I'll have good carnage for everyone. RCNT are Carnage Addicts

The back flip over the fence I plan is just to please MaxxTroop because of all the hell he gave me about the fence jump, lol.

I haven't tried flips on purpose yet. Don't have the $! But I have done a few on accident. The last one I did that looked real bad but didn't break anything was when my throttle servo glitched out on me shortly after I put a 2.5hp mill in my maxx. It did one full flip and a half. Ended up on the roof from about 15ft in the air.

After kicking it over, I drove it for another half hour with no broken parts.

I've ordered my fail safe so I can now take a tuff landing and not worry about breaking my fifth battery box, I'm so hyped up to do this, I can't wait.

come on man, wheres the vid? is someone too scared to try it? lol. :w00t:
