Ok I picked up a tamiya tt01 touring car. I am trying to build this as cheap as possible. with stuff I already have. It is new in box but the guy robbed the motor out of the kit. The question I have is I have an old K speed 11 turn double wound brushed motor that still works even though it is around 12 years old. it hasn't been used in twelve years either. Is this motor worth putting in this car? Is this motor faster than the stock rs540s motor that came with the car. I can't find what turn the stock motor was. I just want it to be fast!

I have looked at Tamiya's spec sheet on the ESC and all it says is that it will power their sport tuned motor. So I looked at the Sport tuned motor reference and it dose not list what turn that motor is either. Screw it I guess I will put it in and if it burns it up I will have to get another one. This motor was very fast in the pan car I had it in. I hope it will work should find out today when the the car gets here.

An 11t motor would probably smoke that esc. I'd pick up a $15 540 27t or an esc that could handle a hotter motor. The esc will be much more expensive than a stock 540 or even a sport 540.

Thanks guys. Mail hasn't shown up yet with the car. I was really hoping I would be able to use that motor. I will proly just pick up a cheap motor then and save that other motor for something else. I do have a cheap 100 amp esc laying around though I might just have to see how fast it will go.Could be fun.
