I need to seal this motor I know seal around the carb neck.but what about around the roto startwhen u take off the roto start there is another plate with 4 screws should i take them out and take off the plate and seal that to

For sealing you look at the base of the carb that slides into the crankcase, The nut that tightens the carb to the case, and the backside of the rotostart. When dealin with your inner plate there should be some type of gasket (o-ring or other) that keeps a seal for you. Also I know your supposed to use a certain type of sealant bu it slips my mind right now........

Ya , I got the sealent .got the head ,carb and rotostart and backplate off but can't get the con rod disconected from the crank.the whole thing is dirty and been sitting for a long time ,it did start before i took it apart but i figured i'd tear it apart and clean everything and see what i'm workin with.never had trouble getting the con rod off my traxxas motors.and how do you take off the 3 shoe clutch.... well got the clutches off..that was easy

never mind it's apart once the sleave came out piston no problem

well just finished putting the motor back together and sealing it did hsn and neck of the carb the inner and outer back plates and my rotostart has a hole like it would have a pull start but just a hole . 1 ? though is the roto start supossed to have a spring .cause mine does. similer to pull start.now to clean the rest of the truck not sure if i'm going to pull it all apart or what just yet.

poop that $$$ is gone unemployment just don't cut it that went to cell bill.May be back to work first or second week of next month . the owner where i did work is reopening as a distrabution center for other companies to pick up from.
I took enough apart to see whats what ,not to bad gona fire it up tomarrow should be pretty fun with the ground being soft from the rai today .and i just cut the grass 2 days ago on the lowest setting possible shorter then a golf course maybe 1/4 "- 3/4" got a lot ot of small dips in the yard.how are these trucks on jumps? like i said never ran it .

The truck shares the same 14mm hexnuts as the tmaxx. Go with some type of maxx tire as the smaller tire is less rotating mass and less weight making it a bit faster. I have the HPI savage tires on mine with rpm rims. I also installed the FOC kit. It kinda sucks not having reverse at times but the 1lb weight loss means faster yet again. Other than that mine is pretty well stock and I can barely ever keep the front tires on the ground. If my tune is pretty well perfect when it shifts to 2nd there have been a couple times it almost flips over.Dont worry about it bieng a beauty. Mine is ugly as hell but a blast passing all those maxx lovers all day!!!

got to waite untill i need to get dog food befor i can run it .I your sitting there what the hell does dog food have to do with running the truck ,well i can't justify going to the hobbytown at least 1.2 hrs round trip just for glow plugs so i need to wait until i need to go to wallmart for dog food (gas issue) and the tires thats just what was on it i have others i'm sure will fit but untill i go to the store i will be working on the mugen. Needs cleaned up real good and i need to put a receiver and a batt box on it make sure the servos are good mount the O.S MAX RG and give it a try .was going to do the rs4 (they just repaved my rd.)but i have never ran truggy /buggy i get them confused.so mugen it is .make sure everything works and runs .then probably compleate teardown and cleaning.

Just a suggestion but watch the language as I was "reprimanded" for my language on my last post on my last reply to this thread. I would hate to see you get a point deduction as well...........:hehe:

Anyway thats 1 thing that .....stinks..... when you have a few vehicles. You can never have all the ......darn......things running at the same time. Just fixed my mgt (again) and replaced 2 of the rpm wheels as it stripped the hex out of the rim(too much......gollygeewillickers.......power for the rims too handle. Got it back together and took it out on my lunch break and of course broke the .........frenchtoast......... thing again( had the front u joint break). About ready to put the .......funnyface ........thing on a shelf and start on that winter project I got off of you.

ya, well i decidide to take the drive into town and get a couple of plugs well i couldn't find the store . I knew it there somewhere rode through the parking lot 3 times then asked someone .can ya guess what the ...... frenchtoast....... he .........said closed up about 3 weeks ago. son of a mother dog. so now i have my revo ready , tmaxx readyand the mgt but i can't run them because i don't have a single pluge thats any good. oh and the shope that closed was HOBBYTOWN U>S>A

WTF???? That sucks to travel that far just to have them closed up on you. Ebay with expedited shipping and maybe you'll be lucky enough to have them in 4ish days. That stinks when you are that close and such a small part screws everything up.

wellcome to my world that normal for me but it just means i will enjoy it even more when i get to fire up at least 3 of my trucks.just got the mugen startes this morning won't run unless i keep th ignightr on it (bad plug)but it sounds great..same with the mgt got to fire it sounded ballsey

I dont know how you run yours but I typically run VERY rich and have to replace the glowplug several times during the duration of about a gallon of fuel. How much have you burned since you got it up and running?

have not been able to get it to start . trys but just won't comepleatly fire and runjust sputters a little.I put it up and have been messin with my mugen which i think i have a leek somewhere it will start if i put fuel in the carb and stay running but if it stalls from being upside down or turns off for any reason it looses suction and have to put the fuel back in the carb.

new unused fuel line on the mugen and on the mgt no bubbles

is there a certain leangth the fuel line should be on the mgt cause mine is very short like less then one inch from carb to fuel tank.maybe to short , i would think it would work better with less but don't know

When i set mine up i will usually make a wrap around the fueltank before connecting to the carb. The extra fueline gives you a few more seconds of running while its flipped over (mine spend alot of time on thier lids!!!!) I've never heard of a fueline bieng too short but suppose that may contribute to the problem

well i will try puttting on longer fuel line loop it or something ,but i think there may be a leak somewhere because of the fact it will not draw fuel to the carb to prime the motor even with the stinger pluged .i have to put fuel directly in the carb ,fires up and stays runnung ,untill fliped dies then doesn't want to start even with fuel in carb.
