I have 1/2 a jug of 20% nitro fuel. It is 2 year old because I didn't have the time to burn the gallon jug. It was stored in a dark cool place. Is this fuel too old to use?

Sounds like you stored right. Shake well and I'd try to run it. The worst is it won't run right and you have to clean it out and put in fresh. Also if you're not good at tuning, bad fuel can get you lost trying to make it run then it's harder to get a good tune back for good fuel.

Well I am with Racer on the point with you might have to clean the engine & possable loss of your tune. IMO I always run Fresh Nitro & I would suggest just dump out your old nitro & pick up some fresh fuel from the HS.. It will save you possable engine problems down the road

I have ran fuel that was well over a year old that was just sitting around not stored at all. Poured it in my Jato and it ripped just like it was a fresh bottle.

Good ole Traxxas Top Fuel :D

1/2 jug? what is that in gallons? if its half a gallon just buy more. would have to be cheaper than $50 per gallon like it is here.... hate that i spend more on my nitro than i do on my holden ute... :(

In the past when I had that much extra fuel rather than chance it i put it all in a spray bottle, and use it in the field to clean out the engine head if there is a need to change glow plug or anything. the left over oil can be a pain when it comes to attracting dirt, and still clean your nitro like normal. I use it many places its hard to flush dirt out of, and then I follow through with some Krytech Nitro Cleaner, and use Krytech Dry wax lube (which i can't rave enough about.)

i would add a little oil in case the fuel has a lower octane than it should.

I found some 20+ year old byron 20% nitro fuel hiding in my basement, the cap was on good had a good seal , I burned about 1000cc in my XL K5.9 with no problems
