I'm new to electric and bought what I THOUGHT was a good deal. Lipo 1000mah 15c 2s 7.4 battery. And this is what I got in the mail. Obviously now what I was wanting to put on my buggy.

it is only 1000mah. would be good for a small rig, or heli.

Thought it would just have less capacity. Like a 15 minute run time.

What rig were you buying it for?

You want alteast a 4000mah in my opinion. Id go 5000 3s personally.

Says 2s on box. Haven't installed it yet. Waiting on soldering iron and plugs.

Sidewinder will do 2 or 3s. 3s is A TON of power compared to 2s.

Even though box and specs say 2s? I'd love to run 3s but don't wanna mess it up. Its a Sidewinder SCT and neu castle 1410 1y 3800 kv

For what? The car or the esc? The esc runs 3s for sure.

Sidewinder SCT is 2S.

Ahh SCT, that part was left out lol.

You are just blind. LOL

Says 3s is fine for lower kv motors and people say as long as your not geared to high your fine. I just gotta find out if my stock gearing is fine.

My bad, i never saw that post.

Just bought a new dynamite 5000 20c 3s for 35 bucks. Will try it out and see how temps do.

I remember being new to electric. Fond memories.
Anyways, You should be fine with that, but.....

I personally would go with at least a 30C, i.e...

if not a 40C like......

So far in my experience, I find that the higher C rating you have, the better. 20C will get you up and going, but if you ever want more power, you're going to need more battery.

Personally, I prefer gensacearespammers hardcases. Skys are my second favorite. Both companies offer hard and soft packs, and that's just a matter of personal preference. (I find them easier to keep clean, and they are more durable).

But like I said, the battery you ordered will at least get you moving. 5000mAh is 5Amps (5000mAh x (1Amp/1000mAh)). At a rating of 20C, you should get 100Amps out of the battery (5Amps x 20C). Stepping up to a 30C, you would get 150Amps (5Amps x 30C). The 40C will give you 200, etc, etc. In short: More mAh and higher C rating = higher Amps = MOAR POWAH!!!
