if you pull the glow plug out and hold it against a bare part of the block will you see it glow using an electric starter?
 
Yes, you will see the spring inside the glow plug glow if you use a glow plug igniter. Not sure with the electric start though. If it's being started by a wire then I would think so.
 
just like it being screwed in, its making a negative contact to the block so it should glow i assume
 
I you're Traxxas easy start then yes you will, but if you're expecting a spark to jump you'll be waiting a long time.
Just look at the end of it. It doesn't matter how bright the sun is, if you can't see it, the glow plug is shot.
 
actually i tested my ez start box and it burned out, so no glow for the plug
