ok i am a n00b when it comes to this hobby and i am looking to buy my first buggy.
i have narrowed it down to two cars;

the OFNA Hyper 7 PCR RTR
or
the PRP Swift.

i was wondering what you all think would be the better for a starter that knows a good bit about full scale cars and how to set THEM up, and i am very mechanically inclined.
i dont really plan to race, but i am the type of guy that likes to have the good stuff, and i like to work on things and upgrade them.

i have done a good bit of research on the two and just can't seem to see a clear winner. they are both about the same price, one has a better radio (Swift) but the other has the heritage and large aftermarket base (Hyper 7)

Please help,
Monas:thumbsup:

Ofna PCR RTR is the one I would get. The PCR kit is a bitch.

Can't tell ya anything about the swift. But the Ofna PCR is a great buggy, my buddy zandor22 has one and loves it I have the Ofna PBS and it is almost the same buggy and it is great. Hope this was some help.

I have a PCR and it kicks arse! I've never even heard of the other one your talking about. I don't know if thats a good thing or not, but i'm kind of a noob also. But the PCR is a great ride i would recomend.

Dude don't get a swift just it might fit your pocket book at first purchase. Get the PCR or something you actually want. Also you should check with your local hobby shop to see which parts they stock.

Don't know anyone with a swift. I say Ofna, but agree get what your lhs stocks parts for.

Do as I say, not as I do! lol!!!!!!

My hobbie shop has minimal lightning parts, but it is pretty new.

If you decide on the swift (which is a great buggy) have a skeet at the swift thread.

I've read that the OFNA has weak points (which car hasn't).

Make a hit list of what YOU want in a buggy and compare each, it'll end up coming down to personal choice.

In the end there aren't any crappy cars these days (not like the 70's/80's), only good and great.

You guys are not giving the Swift a fair chance here. I see it doing well at local tracks, and you can't beat their support onthe vehicle. I even heard one of the owners posting here saying he would show someone personally att he show how to build the diffs properly. You have to make the right choice for you but I would not count the Swift 1/8 buggy out.

Thanks for the input guys.
i have been leaning more to the Hypre 7 mainly because of the fact that it has been around a while and it is proven.
as far the lhs they dont carry jack for nitro RC. any parts i get are going to have to be from online purchases. at least i havent found a shop around me that carrys parts or kits.
if anyone knows of any in the Melbourne/cocoa Florida area let me know

thanks again for all the opinions it is exactly what i am looking for
