Hi.

I just ordered this buggy but have read on some forums that the steering servo in this RTR is quite misserable.

Does anyone know the specs on the stock servo ?

Just to give me an idea on what to upgrade to.

I'm thinking of getting two new servos or perhaps if the stock steering could be placed on the throttle/brake position just one new.

Hitec 645MG for steering or their 945 or 625. I don't know if I should go for speed or torque (offcause some torque)

Regards.

I'd say you want both for steering - you want a quick, but high-torque servo. The servo needs to hold the tracking through a curve when you are pushing it with the Force .26's power. So I'd suggest something in the .10-.15 sec response range and then nothing lower than 100 oz in. torque.

OK. So something like the Hitec 625MG for steering.

It has 0.15 sec. and 95 oz of torque both @ 6V.

They are quite resonable in price I think $40.

And you are saying I would want that for braking too ??

The 625 is a nice start, but for instance, I dropped in a Futaba S9402 - its like 111 oz of torque and .10sec or something like that. The closer to those specs the better.

For break, what you have in the 625 ought to be good too. You need something that will put that torque up against that brake and hold it when you are laying into it. Especially coming off of WOT jumps and needing to nail a turn.

Ideally, I'd have two Futaba S9402's, but that could be a bit pricey. So here are some suggestions:

Steering - HitTec HS-925MG/945MG, Futaba S9402/S9405

Throttle - HiTec HS-625MG/HS-605BB (if you can still find them), Futaba S9405

Take a look at those and good luck on your search!

definitely stock servo's suck the first thing that went in mine was a futaba 3pdf radio andr 133 fm rcvr i just dropped 65.00 on hitec hs-645 mg works well......bad steering slop......
