Hey
I am am a huge newbie! I just got a Ofna lx comp and i've been reading alot on the forums about how they're not very good engine (Force.26) and steering wise. So now I'm a little worried about what i have. If theres anyone who has or had one any info would be awesome

I think its a great platform to start out with if your a newbie, depending on which mill you have on it .25/.26 either are a great mill to start out with, my only suggestion would be change your steering servo the Hitec 645 is a great replacement for the stock one. Enjoy Your New Toy!

First off Welcome to RCNT! You will find alot of help here.

What do you plan on doing with you buggy? Racing or bashing? Ofna makes some great stuff so don't get discouraged just yet. The steering is prob just a servo problem, and you will get that with just about all rtr buggies. The engine might be a different story, but it will still work for you. First thing take the engine off of the chassis and put some rtv sealant on the backplate, and carb so there are no air leaks. Check the screws on the head to make sure they are tight.

Make sure that you put some filter oil on your air filter and zip tie it to the carb. Now your ready to fire it up and begin breakin.

I'm new to the hobby myself, and just recently got this buggy. It's a great setup for the money.

The steering servo stripped on the first day while I was breaking in the engine, but OFNA offers GREAT support. I'd suggest replacing the servo almost right away and save yourself a headache. Since buggies have smaller wheels than their 1/10 monster truck rivals, I'd personally go for speed over torque when shopping for a servo. The Hitec 625 is faster than the 645, and still has up to 94 oz in of torque - plenty for a buggy. They're both the same price, so it's really your call. BTW, the reason I crashed was because of the steering stops on the lower arms. Check Noob's post here, and make sure you trim yours down before taking to the streets/track. ;)

As for the Force .26, I have no complaints. Although it wouldn't start for me with the included glow plug, it sure runs nice on the O.S. #8 plugs. And she's easy to tune as well.

Enjoy your buggy!

I have to disagree I would go with the 645 over the 625 because these things move fast and still require alot of power to turn the wheels. Just my .02

Thanks for that guys, so i'll get a new servo to replace the stock steering one i'll just got to my LHS went there for the first time yesterday they had some pretty awesome stuff. Also my friend has a mugen .21 i think it says t-rex well anyway the tyres wear out very quick i think he said 20 mins! so what would be the best tyres for on road and then the best tyres for offroad? so i can make my tyre life a little longer.

The stock tires don't do so well on pavement. I picked up a set of Medial Pro Tarmac II for on-road use. Anything with a street tread will be better than the stock ones.
And for when you do need replacement off-road tires, the ProLine Knuckles have a good reputation...

if you are gunna race try some crime fighters out just bshin.. go for the knuckles..
