Hey guys, another question. I want to kno which car i should get if I want it to go fast, jump high. I'm kinda moving towards the buggy, it looks badass. Put in ur .02, I need somebodys opinon. The Hyper has a .21 hyper 8 port and comes with a starter box. So sound on foo.

Is this your first r/c car?

If so definitely go for the savage, an awesome truck in every respect.

If you've been into r/c for a while and you think you can handle 1/8 scale buggy's, for the Ofna. You see, buggies are way harder to maintain than a truck would. They take such a beating and they are harder to clean. Also, lugging around the starter box when you wanna go bashing isn't very fun.

Just my 2 cents.:D

smurfola - i think its totally up to u, since i have known u a while on here, i think that u need to decide between a couple of factors.

Are u really into hopup? if so, the savage has tons, and u can keep upgrading. the buggy is going to be a more it is what it is kind of ride. if u do decide to go with a buggy, why not go with something besides an awful, i mean ofna. take a look at the lightening pro, and the GS storm pro. then u can build it too, which is half the fun, and pick out your own mill, ect.... i know u have a radio already, so u can use that too.

i think u might get bored with the savage after a while.

I'm pretty sure the hyper 7 is made by ho hoa (the same people that make the 8-port) OFNA just puts their name on other people's work.

I got a Hot Bodies Lightning Pro w/ Hyper .21 8-port race for about 5 bills. You could even sell the stock mill from the Lightning pro on ebay for $80. (same enegine that's in the savage)

I, however, have a local track that runs 1/8 scale buggies. That's WHY I bought a buggy. How about you? What's your local track run? Buggies aren't as fun as a Monster Trucks when you take them off the race track -- just so you know.

Also, what does your LHS stock for parts? stuff to think about

Now I have found just the opposite for me. I have a MT and a couple of buggies. I find the buggy layout one of the easiest to clean, disassemble and re-assemble. I can break down my buggy in 15 minutes and clean and rebuild in under an hour. Now my T-Maxx is another story. Dont get me wrong I love that little bastard but it so hard to work on because of the way its put togther. If you break a bulk head which is very common if you run the stock ones it takes like 30-35 minutes to tear it down enough to change them. The T-Maxx has WAY more parts then a buggy also. Just my experience.

VERY good point Rob!!!

Buggies are sliced bread if you have a track. The are not fun around the neighborhood as they are too fast and get broken. They get high centered easy not like a MT that can go over about anything. They do not perform like an on road while on the street so whats the point? If you get a buggy and dont have a track you will soon be looking to make one.

I own all types, Maxx's, 1/8 buggy, stampede, evaders and an older RS4 MT. I thought I would be happy with the Maxx but after going to the track and watching the nitro buggy guys race, I had to have one. My Maxx is collecting dust and I can't say enough about how much fun the buggy is (GS Storm .21). Don't get me wrong. There are times when nothing beats a monster truck. Most of the guys I know and many of the folks in these forums own more than one vehicle. Maybe it's all about variety. But for your first one I would go with a truck.

I'm gonna get the lightning pro, then just buy the agressor radio! Theres a big ass park and lotsa dirt near my house, I'm in mjimes crew now. Every saturday we are either ripping up the dirt or burnin the pavment. I'm gonna get the Pro, thx for ur .02 guys
