I liked to think Futaba uses better components in their radios. My old faithful 3PM (circa 2005-ish) is just outstanding... except for the cost of FASST receivers. If it were not for compatible receivers, I'd have got rid of the radio years ago. Having said that, $50 for a genuine Futaba FHSS receiver is very, very good, but people been using Futaba compatible Corona receivers for a long time now. Well, at least since Futaba FASST protocol was out. I don't remember anyone ever complaining about them. I'd bet a normal person would not be able to tell the difference in a blindfold test.
