I thought I was being careful, and following the breakin procedure, and it got too hot, then cooled down then was able to start again... but I guess the damage was done (3rd tank), and it siezed on the 4th tank... and at the time was running really good. And I checked the heat, and it wasn't even 180... but when it got too hot before, and stopped it was 310.

So do I buy a whole new motor?

no it won't turn over, when I try to spin start, it just spins (the piston doesn't move). Mach 27

And take the glow plug out and look down the hole when you turn it over with the flywheel. We want to verify what is going on.

Otherwise, try to turn it over with the starter and the GP out. Maybe it hydrolocked partly due to heat.

Or, I think "Deep Throat" might be right.

At the time of the 'freeze' I was running 3 sec full throttle runs when it just stopped. I talked with Horizon, they suggested I mail it in, and maybe fix it under warranty. time break out the tools.

IB, it does sound like it might something small, but based upon your description and the temps you hit, it might the whole mill. Try our suggetions first to see if it something silly like the starter (Doesn't the LST2 also have a pull starter?) or the one way. If it is seized or it is a bad/broken conrod you will be able to tell by pulling the GP and looking down the hole while trying to turn it over. It won't turn!

I'm trying to take it out, but first I have to head back to the HC to get a driver... these motor mounts are tight, and my simple allen wrench ain't cuttin it. Probably won't get to it until Sunday...

I'm pretty sure it froze.. right after it stopped, I tried to restart within a minute, and the spin start shaft would not turn... I loosend the GP, and it still would not turn... and then the spin start just spun w/o the piston moving.

I taked with Horizon Hobby, and told the tech about it freezing, and maybe it was my fault, and he said just send it in and we'll fix it under warranty.

Will report back after I get it out.

Sounds like a one-way bearing went out. Try spinning it one last time; if the flywheel moves, then your conrod snapped. If not, then your one way bearing popped.

I just got a Used LST and I told them about the CVD's that needed to be replaced because 2 out of 4 had the Set screws back out. They said to send em in and they would replace them for free. Woot Woot!!! Losi rocks. I think I have liked them since I had my XXt-CR.!!!Let us know what happens..

Well I finally got it out, and it has to be the connecting rod... mailed it back to Horizon for repairs. UPS ground both ways... Hopefully I'll get it back this year.
