Coming back into this hobby, i was steered towards the NTC3 and I loved it! I bought the kit and isntalled the os CVRX .12 with pull start. Car worked and ran great. I never had any probs with the car or the engine. I have approximately 1 1/4 gallon through the engine and it's still running great, especially after retuning it.
My brother recently purchased an OS cvr .15 for me NonPull start for only $97. I have yet to have the engine in my possesion but that's not the prob. He said that the shaft would have to be cut to fit since it's a standard length vs sg .Not a prob according to him since he did the same thing with his CVRX 15. My question is, how much of a difference in length is the shaft? I most probably will do it myself with a high speed cutting tool. If not, I'll take it to my lhs. I just want to make sure.
Next question:
I know my NTC3 is pretty fast already, how much faster will it be with the new engine? I'm already spinning my tires with the .12 (I can hear it mostly in the mid range when I goose it). All my gears are stock. Will I have to compensate with higher ratios to keep from stripping the gears or spinning my tires even more?
I tore through the tires that came with the kit and replaced them with HPI X-pattern treads. I loved em since I mostly bash at an asphalt school playground or a very large parking lot near by. How will these treads hold up to more power? What do you suggest I use with this higher torque engine?
I'm not realy into racing. I just enjoy running the car, especially after work to relieve the stress.
All your suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!:write:
