Ok, my buddy that has 10+ years working on custom builds on chevells,Harleys and of course nitros and has over a grand in his own nitro build, said that the fuel that we run in our RC trucks, cars etc makes alage in our tanks. Is this true? He said it burns and is normal.

Well I'm sure if you left the nitro/tank open long enough it could absorb enough water to let it grow... Unless the alcohol destroys their cells.

I just no he said that when he looked it over he said it was in the tank and that it was normal that the fuel caused some type of algae to grow. But hhe said it burned, my truck wasn't sitting for more than a few weeks at the time he looked. I just had never heard that and I just wondered if anyone had.

That's not something I ever heard before. Anytime I was getting rid of old fuel, I used it as weed killer in the sidewalk seams. Nothing will grow in that stuff.
I sure hope you have a good in-line fuel filter installed.

last I checked NOTHING can survive living in oil and nitrous fuel....just a small thought but maybe it was caked dirt he saw....I've had small amounts get in my tank...I run a dynamite filter so I dought it got into my mills....

He is most likely thinking that the fuel is similar to diesel which has a BIG problem with algae growing in it but I don't think it could happen in nitro its just too volatile to support anything growing.

ok thanks guys, I could not see aything in there either. Ralph thats why I want a in line filter. HAPPY NEW YEARS GUYS!!
