Well took the maxx out for a bash today and 4th tank through it dies so think not another bloody glow plug swap the plug stick the glow starter on . Go to pull start it. And no compression wat so ever . Brought it back home engine off head off pull start off back plate off . And wat do i find ? A mashed up piston . . Sleeve . . And a conrod split in half with the bushing laying in the bottom of the crank . Now Wtf i put a new con rod in not even a gallon ago and its been running fine . Now I'm not one to point the blame but 2 con rods in 3 and a half gallon's with a good tune ? Not buying it will be ringing up Traxxas to see what they can do . And see what there so called aftercase service is like . I'm not going to replace it . I either wanna get a new 3.3 or just go with something different. Completely ruined my weekend with a bash with the mates . Grrrr lol.
 
Yer i no . My lhs has a fg marder with the zenoah engine in it . He will do me it for 600 quid . Just having the fund's atm . I do like nitro don't get me wrong . But everytime summit goes I'm more inclined to go petrol . Il have a little think wat I'm going to do and see what Traxxas say . Might just be worth saving up for a month or 2 and go petrol .
 
Get something different. 3.3 conrods are some serious junk and prone to failure.

Thats exactly how mine looks . Will have a little look see what can fit in there . . Will let you no what happens .
 
Damn that is some good carnage. I have yet to have that happen to me but I do have a few 3.3s around it could be me next I guess.
 
God knows how this engine was treated before my friend bought it. This happened on his first tank of fuel after buying it second hand....
 
Go with a different engine os,picco anything but that3.3 traxxs fuel and engines are the same crap.:whhooo:
 
i have the davis diesel conrod in my 3.3 and I've run about 2 gallons with it and it is still holding up like the day i put it in! i would recomend the davis diesel conrod to anyone who has the trx 3.3!
 
Cheers for the link . Think I'm just going to get a different engine not a trx maybe a picco or a force don't know what would fit without too much modding tho .
 
Well have emailed Traxxas with a very long essay and await a reply lol will let you no what they say .
 
Had a reply from Traxxas got the usual bs about warranty . Worth a try . can't afford a picco or anything so just going to get a new Trx and install that davis diesel conrod before i run it in .
 
OS.21tm is only $269. Might be worth waiting on 2 traxxs 3.3=1os:D
