My friend owns the LHS by me.
He called me yesterday to tell me that someone walked out of his store with a brand new in the box, Savage RTR.
By the time he got outside, the perp was gone.
He called the other LHS (his competition), and asked him to keep an eye out for someone with a new Savage.
Low and behold, he said that there were a couple of dudes in his store right now asking him to break it in for them.
My friend asked him to stall them, and tell them that it has to cool down for a long time in between tanks, to extend the break in time, giving my friend time to call the cops and get there.
Thats what he did. He called 911, and raced over there with my friend Angelo (a 6ft 5 inch 380pounder).
they pulled up and blocked off the parking lot entrance, and Angelo walked in and blocked the door.
To my friends suprise, it was a long time customer that was heavily into electrics.
I guess he wanted to get into Nitro monster trucks.
He had a women go into the store and steal it, bring it to them, and they went all the way to the other place for brake in.
Busted!!
Well, the way this ended. The truck became evidence, the 2 guys went to jail, and the women is being sought by police.
He will have the savage back Today.

Thats messed up! Glad the ass hole got caught! Its always the people that you would least expect.

It was a guy that used to run electric off road stuff.
He's about 24 yrs old now, he's been going there from around the age of 10

i hope he gets what he deserves.
We all know the guy. what and butthead.
Thats why he had a women go in. He was known by all of us.

I hate a thief more than anything! I am glad the assholes got busted. If he was a long time customer I wonder how much other stuff he stole from your friend?

How sorry is that guy. He will be known no by the local PD and the LHS around. I never had enough cash when I was little now since my hobby got more expensive I have about the same amount of cash in hand. Lol Go figure but I never stole for my Hobby.

Hope the loser gets a lot. savage 25 may just fall as Grand larceny if its 500 bux or more.

Jon

The stupidity of some people never ceases to amaze me. Hope the guy gets what he truly deserves.

No suprise their but I'm glad that justice was served in the end.

My favorite LHS round here is Southwest hobbies, They're great people and have served Albuquerque well for many years. Not to many years ago 8 large men walked into the store and walked out with over $3000.00 worth of RTR's. They never found out who they where but they got a good glance of the perps. A year l8tr two of the guys where arrested for mudering a woman in here house that they broke into. They're both doing multiple life senetences.

Many people in this world are fiddlesticking nuts, especially in this town. In many situations it's not worth pursuing somone as they'll be out of jail in no time and they may seek their "vengance".

I sure as hell wouldn't wanna get shot and killed over a stupid $500 truck. The sad part is that these people will c little jail time and will be out on the streets stealing again and endangering peoples lives.

If justice is fair, and they stole a Savage, then they should be beaten savagely.
I'm glad they got caught, and that your friend got his stuff back. A thief is one of the lowest life forms on this planet.

Here's the update.
He's out of jail already. His lawyer claims that the perp bought the truck off some girl for $300.00.
He had the ball's to have his lawyer ask for the truck back, or have to fight it out in court.

That's still recieving stolen merchandise. He has no legal claim to the truck, even if he did buy it off the woman. The lawyer needs to be going after the woman it was bought from. Of course doing that would mean this guy has to rat on his girlfriend.

(Italics used, because I don't believe for an instant that he "bought it off some woman.")

What I'm curious about is since Savage's do not have any type of VIN or serial number, how could your LHS prove that the Savage these guys showed up with is/was the stolen Savage?

I'm not siding with the "perps"....

I think your LHS is going to have a hard time proving things without a confession. The guy that had it, would also have to "know" that the property was stolen. Since the Savage doesn't have a serial number (traceable) and no one could ID the woman that took it or witnessed the transaction, these guys just might get away with it.....

They had Video cameras in both hobby shops. In the first shop where the truck was stolen, the women came in with one man (not known by us).
In the second shop, the unknown man came in with the guy we knew.
He doesn't know it yet, but the connection will land him on his ass.

Look on the bright side. He's paying big bucks for the liar....er...lawyer.
Liar, lawyer, what's the difference.
If it's on video, he'll go down, and pay more in legal fees and court costs than the Savage would have cost.

i just hope justice serves them right, freaking cockaroaches should be a shamed of themselves

Justice is blind and any good defense attorney is bound by law to defend his client to the best of his ability. I really find it patently offensive you call all lawyers liars. Truth be told only a piss poor attorney would not be able to help this guy walk for the reason mentioned above. Without a VIN or some other traceable indep. verifiable ID on the car even with the footage of the people you have no way of saying beyond a shadow of a doubt that in fact that is the same truck. Simple logic shows this and I do feel sorry for the LHS owner and I hope he recovers his losses but he will most likely not win his case in court unless he can show proof the truck went directly from his store to the other LHS........just because the same person is present in both stores means nothing besides one man was in both stores.

It doesn't pull ALL lawyers in this category, mainly defense attorneys. If they have a client who is obviously guilty, they will put a spin on the truth, or look for a loophole that allows the guilty to walk free. The higher their price, the better chance the guilty person has to get off.
We've all needed lawyers for accident claims or house sales at one time or another, so I'm not putting them in the same category.
It's our justice system, and what it's become, that makes defense attorneys give ALL attorneys a bad name.

Too bad we couldnt still just have the good ole days of the wild wild west....

Anyone watch Deadwood?!?!?!

Hell, they would have just shot all 3 of them and moved on with life.

I'm all for it! Public ho downs and hangings.....

Little bastard should at least loose a few fingers, like every OTHER one on each hand and his tongue for lying.
