Well i would like to know a little bit more to painting bodies so i dont throw 30$ down the drain again. My last body i painted i used the hobby paint at walmart and it didnt turn out so good maybe i didnt do it right. here are my Questions
Is there a specific paint i should use?
Is it bad to use Spray paint if not what kind should i get?
Do i need a special spray gun?
wheres a good place to get good paint?
Basically i need to know what i need to get to make my bodie turn out better. Found out that i need to get a body reamer and body scisers. I dont have a fancy paint gun all i have is an electric one the kind you would use to paint a house, not sure if i could do it with that but thought id throw it out there. Thanks for any help

Using a rattle can can produce great results. if you have one, using an air-brush will give you more control. Your household paint gun is great for walls but wouldn't use it on an RC. Get a paint designed specifically for Lexon. Any LHS will have some in stock.

Wash the inside of the body well using dish soap.
Make sure it is completely dry before painting.
Take your time and mask off what you don't want painted.
Many light coats are better then one thick one.
Let them dry well before adding more paint.

Just some extremely basic tips.

when you say rattle can you mean spray paint right? Well i was in Wal world last night and saw that they sold paint to paint your 1:1 car it was in a spray can so i think i might use that do you think that would work? Well i think this time if i just take my time and be patient it will come out like i want i just really want to know what paint i should use, i think the auto paint i found at Walmart will work, tell me if I'm wrong. Ill go to my lhs to try and get some more info on paint.

Even the rattle cans, or spray cans need to be for Lexan. These are also in the Hobby store. Most of the standard spray paints you find in Walmart or hardware stores will not work. The paints intended for Lexan are flexible. The lexan bodies do a lot of shaking and bending, and the hard paints will start to chip and peel.

I painted my Revo body today. I used Pactra R/C paints. I painted two light coats of pearl white, and then 5 coats of metallic blue, followed with one coat of metallic silver. It has about ten different sheens on depending upon the light angle and source.

Tip about washing body is actually good idea. Some say to scuff it too. Make sure you are using R/C fuel compatible paints and for Lexan.

Yeah my last body with the wally world paint was chipping like crazy and i never used it i just used my other one that came with the truck. Thanks for the paint tip thats what i was looking for now I'm all set. Really appricieate it.
