So I'm on my 7th tank of gas, and i have started to tune the high end, its doing much better, but still seems to not go into 2nd gear, and it wont pull a wheelys, is this a tuning problem? or is something else wrong, the Low end is set at 3 for fully closed ( factory set ) and I'm not sure what the high is set at now, prolly about 3 1/2.

any advise will be helpfull, I was told that these trucks love las vegas for its dry air...

keep tuning,keep tuning,keep tuning,keep tuning,keep tuning,
trust me it will come around. Dont let your temps go over 270 try to keep them 220-250. Also when your done with the hsn dont forget to tube the lsn.

thanks, so ill just keep tuning it till i find the optimum settings... Is it possable that the motor is just not fully broke in yet... according to the book it should be.

keep tuning. When you brek in an engine you keep the rpms real low so you can properlly seat the piston. Broken in or not when you tune you get the same result. Except when you do break in you get a lng running reliable engine.

I've been doing some research on the savage lately since I got involved helping a guy set up a truckzilla conversion.
As they are breaking in, they will usually go through a stubborn period, where you think you have a very undependable engine. They really don't come to life till they have had 12 tanks run through them.
Wheelie power is a lean LSN, so don't be thinking about doing that till it's been totally broken in, and then some.

HPI has told me that the Savage 21 and 25 were designed to prevent wheelies, the suspension is tight but not tight enough you need to put harder springs and thicker shock oil if u want it to wheelie in the rear!!! it will wheelie ones and a while on high traction areas... but other then that it shouldnt put it more lean and then change the stock shock oil to 45 or 50w shock oil and it should wheelie more then 1/2 the time

what springs were u running and shock oil and how lean was the motor? on HS and LS btw you also got the ribbed pipe in the kit... so u got a slight advantage! depends on your setup

Stock SS spring and stock SS shock oil. The motor is tuned well and it runs at 240 degrees without any hesitation. I just replaced the S-25 this weekend with a Picco 26 and a 18T clutch bell because I wanted more power and top speed.

My S-25 doesn't run good till it's around 280-290.But it runs really strong at those temps..Never shows any signs of overheating ..
