Please also note that gas and petrol are the same fuel. Nitro is based on alcohol not petroleum.

Just get a 1/8 nitro buggy, there tougher than most other RC cars/trucks out there, they are made to take abuse & they handle great & jump better & if you get a quality made brand then there will be good parts availability. They come in kit form if you want to build one but then you need engine, servo's & radio gear. Getting an RTR buggy is easier & if you get the right one then a fair few or all of the pro kit race parts will fit.

Buggys boogie buddy and that's a fact!

hi guys.:) I'm looking for my first nitro/petrol truck but the question is.......which one do i go for? I'm looking for something that's pretty fast and a decent scale. also I've heard the not all of them have a reverse gear on them? thanks in advance :D

personally I don't really like Nitro RC cars. who takes care of the RC after every drive like tuning, drain the fuel tank or change or clean the air filter.I suggested you to go for an electric RC car.

Adam911...it is kinda strange that you have 9 post here and 4 of them are linking to the same site that sells only off brand stuff. I would be careful that is verging really close to looking like spam.

It's no worse than removing batteries and putting a storage charge on them then blowing dust off of the vehicle. Actually it takes less time than electric to do your after run procedures.

nitro are very easy to put up in my opinion. run the fuel out at low rpm start it up a couple more times to burn off left over fuel and add ARO and put her up.

Petrol:- Reliable, easy tuned, long runtimes, cheap fuel but the models are expensive to buy and expensive to buy parts for
Nitro:- Small, very powerful, simple, light models break less often and spares are a lot cheaper but its very difficult to get them to run well, especially if you can't get good fuel reliably however if you master it a decent power source.

Keep in mind nitro's require constant tuning, fixing, you have to keep an eye on temps, etc etc... it is certainly alot of work but it's worth it to me because I love engines and they can be a headache. There are many days I wish I had electric lol but I do love my nitros. Also Nitro has a much higher long term cost, while electrics have a higher start up cost and minimal long term investments, MINUS broken parts.

In my neighborhood I've got a bunch of kids that live around and as soon as they hear that nitro car start up I've got just about enough time to tune it and then there will be at least two there to watch it run lol. A buddy of mine runs strictly electric and when he comes over and runs everyone always thinks mines cooler lol. Theres nothing like that sound of that lil 2 stroke screamin. Nitro is much more expensive in the long run tho especially at about 28 bucks a gallon of fuel and if you have many trucks its nothing to burn a half gallon of fuel

Yep absolutely right about that, I love the sound, the smell, everything about em lol. Yeah my neighbors kids love when I run it, but they bug me every time to play with it lol. How many times do I gotta say no? Lol. Buy they get a kick out of it, and so do I lol.

Nitro or nothin man. Electrics are nice for winter time though. I keep my mini T to run inside with. I also own a Baja 5b, it never hardly gets ran because of the size takes so much room to run. That and every time I take it out I break the dang clutch or some kinda driveline part. It is fun as crap though. As long as you enjoy the hobby, who cares. I will stick with my nitro's though.:D

That says it all!

There both as good as each other.
Just Nitro are alot CHEAPER to buy and get running, however maintaining running with after run oil filter maintance and cleaning.Let alone the price of fuel is very high
Light compared to nitro.

Petrol
Very Big and heavy usually 1/5 + ,Expensive to buy ,Expensive for engines (from what i've seen) ,Hop ups i can't say aint looked. But!!! Running costs are much lower
Petrol is like £1 a liter (nitro is about £5 - 7 per litre) and with the 2stroke oil - it works out alot cheaper
