The Summit is battery powered.

1.) the summit is not gas or nitro.
2.) if you want to go fast. The summit is NOT for you.

Check one of the HPI Savage's or a Traxxas Revo.

I have a feeling "summit" is "something" misspelled.

Gas rcs are expensive. So are nitros, but you don't have to drop $800 on a kit. Gas rcs are supposed to be easier to tune, and you don't have to worry about any break-in.

A lot of it depends on what you want to spend.

What kinda price range are u looking at and are u wanting to go nitro or gas

Summit no fun revo great all around truck savage great truck awesome durability.

If your gonna be running on concrete more than grass or dirt a revo would be better imo bc it wouldnt flip as much

But all in all what are u thinking you would like

hey guys. ;) not sure on a price.been looking online on a well known auction site but all the ones I've seen look pretty cheap and nasty.not sure if i should go for nitro or petrol. which is most reliable.? could really do with a book to read up on them a little i think.:)

I've never owned a petrol, to big for my taste but a nitro is very reliable if you can tune it and break it in properly best thing to do would be to do a general search on google about nitro rcs and petrol rcs

Every engine needs a break in period! From our daily drivers, to our rcs. The petrol rcs are and can be very expensive. The HPI Baja will set you back about 1200 or so if new and if used, atleast 500. The nice thing about petrol is the fuel is cheaper than nitro which in the states is under 5 bucks. Nitro fuel will set you back around 30 bucks a gallon depending on your area. On the Nitro side, a quality nitro rig will run you atleast 300 just for the rig. Then you're going to need field equipment: glow warmer, tools, batteries, etc. Here's a link with alot of info from a very good dealer:

The best thing to do at this point is to do some research and visit some local hobby shops that sell these models. Good luck and welcome to the world of RC.

1/5 scale buggy. $350. You need a transmitter, battery, gas and go. It a whole lot easier than doing nitro's and your fuel is only $4 a gallon instead of $30.

I wouldn't recommend that particular one as it as really off brand and parts will be hard to find. For a first nitro, don't buy used. You'll just be inheriting someone else's problems and headaches.

My first nitro was a Revo 3.3. It was fast and relatively tough out of the box. A lot of the guys that are on here also swear by the Savage X. Either would be a great truck.

You can not go wrong with HPI or TRAXXAS rigs. I own GAS and nitro. I prefer nitro. The gas rigs take more room to run, parts higher price. Yes gas is cheaper than Nitro. If you purchase a gas rig, I would go HPI baja is top notch rig. If nitro I would go revo, T maxx or Savage X or Savage XL. The T maxx is a awsome truck with tons of support for upgrades.

I think Turnigy is made by Smartech and all the parts are available. And it's $300 less than a Revo and $500 less than the HPI Baja and runs just as well.

Hahaha! Personal experience?
There is a reason it is much cheaper than a HPi

I will put my Baja agaist the quality of a Smart-tech anyday. There is a reason big name companys do not make aftermarket parts for them. It is not a good investment for them. Sorry Mr. Bones but "I think" this is made by does not always equals the truth and again....the day Smart-tech comes up to the same quality standard as HPI, Traxxas, Losi.....oh wait...never mind I am not going to hols my breath beacuse I am pretty sure it is not going to happen. Does that mean it can't be fun? No, it still can be a lot of fun....but quality the same?.... not a snowball's chance in hell.

Yes. I have a 3.3 Revo and a buddy of mine has both the trinity buggy and the HPI Baja. There is no questing that both the Revo and the HPI are the best. This guy is asking about an entry level something and you guys are suggesting that he just go ahead and buy the most expensive outfits that are made. If he buys either and decides he don't like it, then he's going to loose $$$ because he can't get back near what he paid for it. There's nothing wrong with that buggy for $400. The reason it's cheaper is so people who can't afford the top of the line can get started on it.
