Nitro % vs Glow Plug

Quick Question for you all. Does the % Nitro you run have any bearing on what type of glow plug you should use.

The reason I am asking is that I have recently moved up from 16% nitro to 20% nitro and I am still using the standard traxxas plugs that come with the 2.5 TRX. Now although it is starting ok on the new fuel it has been cutting out a bit more regularly then it used too and I wondered if the glow plug had anything to do with it.

Any opinions ?

Glow plugs sometimes seem a bit of a black art and one I'm not really well-versed on. But I usually refer to this article to start with:

just go with a McCoy 9=cold 8=med 59=hot. Make sure you stick with a plug and fuel combination. You will get your most reliability that way.

In general, a med-hot plug will work well with 20%. If it's extremely humid, you will need a hotter plug.

For 30%, a colder plug with avg element will suffice BUT the same rule applies with humidity. If the humidity is high, a hot plug with avg element will be needed.
