Helo guys,
my brother want to buy rc car . He need some sugestion from all of you.He is much confused which rc car he buy.So I need some help from all of you.Which rc car is best for him,Nitro or electric car?

Nitro is cheaper to get started in and has the realism aspect. Electrics Are more expensive to get started in but you dont have have to keep buying fuel and glow plugs. Nitros require more patience in tuning where Electric is a little more plug and play. Nitros will keep running as long as you can put fuel in it. Electrics you have to keep charging batteries to keep going.

You brother will just have to decide for himself what suits his style and budget.

the biggest factor is where you will be running them.. If you are running where you have neighbors close by you may be pissing off the neighbors with nitro... I started with nitro and had to get a electric to run around my yard as i was pissing off people in the neighbourhood

no one can really answer this question for you we can give suggestions but in reality your brother needs to watch some youtube videos and do a little reading about nitro and electrics and then decide on which one its all about personal preference. If he wants something he only has to work on when something breaks go with the electric much easier to keep up than a nitro but if he likes to tinker go with the nitro much more work goes into them and a sense of accomplishment comes from them bc of the challenge they present

That's part of the fun of it. I have one guy that lives across the court from me and he's kind of a cry baby. If I really want to aggravate him, I drop off the muffler and make it a little louder. And I'm really sure he don't like my 1/5 truck. It sounds like someone running a chain saw up and down the road. All my other neighbors are cool. There's nothing that guy can do about the noise as long as I do it between 9am and 9pm.

When i was living in my apartment there was an older couple that lived in a house across from my apartments and i would run my rcs up the road and in the gravel parking lot next to the shopping complex right by me and this lady asked me to stop one day and i said mam I'm sorry but I'm not hurting anything and went back to what i was doing. She then called the cops on me for a noise violation. The cops showed up and i was still running my rc's. Talked to the lady across the street then came and talked to me. They told me as long as I'm running b4 dark they can't do anything about it. I ended up letting the cop drive my t maxx and he thought it was pretty cool then another one showed up to see what was going on ended up letting them run my rcs a couple times and talked to them for like an hour and they just said dont worry about it u could be doing much worse things than aggravating an old couple due to noise.

I used to run my Baja-5b gasser up and down the street before I moved to the apartment where I live and the local cops would come to watch and offer "helpful suggestions." The only thing that they said was not to run after dark or before 8 a.m.

I used to work on a army base and worked in the housing portion and a bunch of people out there had rcs, the cops out there would clock peoples cars for them just for the hell of it seen a dude one day that had a electric on road clocked at 88 mph

The best thing your brother can do is do a lot of research. YouTube, magazines, forums like this and so on. Another thing he should do is if you have a local hobby shop near by is check out what brands they carry. It kinda sucks buying an rc that your hobby shop does not carry and you end up breaking a part and you have to order it which can take up to two weeks. When he's ready to make his purchase, make sure he does buy a quality brand like Hpi, traxxas, associated and Losi. On either being nitro or electric, that's a decision that he needs to make.

The advice that I got when getting back in to the hobby after a 20+ year hiatus was to start with an inexpensive hobby-grade electric RC. That way he can get used to the speed and handling and then he can go nitro. BTW I was over 40 when I got this advice.

My brother like your idea. One of his friend also gave him the same advice. Thanks
:)

I also been out of the rc game for about 25 years and started with electric when electric was cheaper starting out with... then I bought a nitro because I always wanted a nitro before brushless was around. Then got out of it again then re got in it recently and back to a nitro. I like nitro a lot more!

Well anyways if he is new to rc electric is easier to learn than nitro. Nitros your constantly making tuning adjustments every time you take it out I usually spend the first tank or two tuning it before actually getting to drive it.

Hey Helen glad your brother is getting into the hobby. Hamz9561 had great advise I started with a small nitro buggy 4 years ago it was a lot of fun in the driveway but wasn't to fast and didn't really like grass which most my yard was. Now I have a whole basement full of off road nitros and am working on an on-road car for the neighborhood. All the kids love my trucks it's fun to watch them and their parents come out of the houses when I fire something up. Although Nitro will always be my love I have been considering an electric car also. Point to all this jibberish is in time if he loves the hobby he will more than likely have both. But keep weather in mind I live in Kentucky where it's cold for about 3 months a year and thats part of the reason I am looking into Electric.

Thats what i love about louisiana weather even during the winter months its often warm enough up in the day to run nitro this year its been in the low thirtys at night and some days up to low 70s but if you live where its really cold the downside of running in the winter is parts being more brittle

my good friends really know the subject, no dought. i will add that the local hobby shop is very important. so finding a good one will be time well spent.
