Do you know if the LST2 parts would fit an AfterShock? Just curious because I am really considering the AfterShock, and I have a feeling I am going to be needing more durable parts, and customization is fun.

Unfortunately I would stay away from the savage ss kit because they have the older diffs which are weaker than the newer bulletproof diffs. The newer savage x 4.6 is a nice rig and I've seen it in action. I have no experience with team losi eventhough I wanted an xxl but I got my baja instead. No matter what you do the wifey will be pissed but to get on your good side, maybe do something around the house or a nice weekend. That's how I manage to keep the water under the bridge.

For the most part, yes, the XXL is where they made a few changes. If it is even close to the XXL in durability, you will probably be surprised by the though. Cheap stock parts can be found on ebay, I've used this seller before and haven't had any issues.

Yeah, she will get over it, at least I'm not spending money on guns like usual (which she also dislikes). I see a lot of people are buying Bajas how do you like yours? I thought they were pretty cool, I don't have anywhere to really run anything that big 1/8 scale would be pushing it for me, bound to have some angry neighbors but they will get over it.

Thanks for the link, those are better prices than most places I have seen.

The baja is great and isn't as much maintenance as I had originally thought. You get about an hour to a full tank and the fuel costs about 7 bucks a gallon which accounts for the oil you have to use. The neighbors aren't that bad where I live and I only run at my park which is kinda wide open. The baja is used probably twice a month due to time restraints so I only have one day to run it and that's when I'm not working. Also its 1/5th scale not 1/8th scale and is commonly known as large scale.

Man that is awesome that to get such a long out of a tank. I thought I did type 1/5 scale, i guess not but I meant to say was 1/8 would be pushing it room wise, amd 1/5 would be impossible.

Still waiting for my ofna to get here. I checked the tracking number and the last place it was, was Nashville and that was 2 days ago and since I live about 2 hours from Nashville I thought it would be here. But now I am down and out for at least the next 6 weeks, I had to have surgery on my nose and can't bend down or anytihng. I feel like I was hit in the face with a baseball bat, hopefully I will be back on feet before then.

Hope you feel better and feel free to ask us anything when it comes time to do break in. Are you sure you did not pies off the misses? Just kidding, LOL. While you're out of commission take the time toook it over and check for loctite.

Got my Ofna Kit today, I was like a kid in a candy store when it arrived. Pretty bummed I can't take it out to break it in yet. I might give it a go tomorrow but I will have to see how I feel. Right now I have one question, I read online somewhere that it is best to tune a vehicle in with a half tank because it leans out as it gets uses fuel? Didn't make much sense to me since the mixed fuel should be the same whether its a cap full or a whole tank.

My face sure feels like I could have......

I didn't think it would make a difference, just wanted to know what the consensus was on that. I will more than likely be using a full tank to break it in.

Breaking in on a full tank is fine, it's when you actually start tuning for performance that you want to have a 1/2 tank. The 1/2 tank lean has nothing to do with the fuel, it's the fact that as your tank runs down, the engine isn't getting as much fuel. If you tune with a full tank, by the time your empty, you will be running pretty lean. If you tune with a 1/2 tank, you will be slightly rich at the beginning, then have a good tune while you're running, and be just slightly lean for the very end. After you get to know your rig, you'll figure out how long you can run on a tank, once you get close just refill and you'll hardly ever have to worry about running dry.

Thanks SchrodeMode.

Is there anything else I should take into consideration when tuning or just follow what the stickys on the forum say.

No personal experience, I worked on an older one at my LHS and wasn't impressed. I've also read many posts saying they're crappy and hard to get parts for.

i have worked on one for my friends kid ...not the best there is ...cheaply made ..screws are fragile and so is the rest of the truck ....stick with a good name brand , you wont regret it ;)

the only part that seems to be pretty decent , is the engine ...starts good and never had problems with it

That is what I figured, you get what you pay for after all. I found a Kyosho DMT for 309 at AbsolutehHobbyz and I think I am going to buy it, I like the looks of it and I found enough parts online so thats not an issue, also I found the Kyosho Mad Force Kruiser a while back and I like the solid axles on that one and I think it was 369, at amainhobbies. Not sure which one I like better but I will figure it out.

here are the links
let me know what you think

I think I am going to have to get an 1/8th scale truck and not get the DMT, so I guess that means I am going to get the Madforce Kruiser that way when HPI makes that sweet little motor I can buy one and do a little engine swap so it will run on mixed gas instead of the expensive nitro fuel.
I know parts are a little more difficult to get for the madforce and are a little more money, but I really fell in love with the solid axles.

Does anyone know of place that is stateside that I can order upgrade parts for the madforce. I will run stock setup until parts break and then I think I am going to buy upgrades where they are possible.
