Hey Guys

Just having trouble choosing an engine for a nitro truggy. (Losi 8ight T 2.0).
I know that it has to be a .28ci engine to comply with AARCMCC standards. (Australia). But what do u look for in an engine? It will be Novarossi and nothing else. So i found the truggy engines and immediately looked for the engine with the max horsepower. But two were identical with same RPM as well. Also what is the meaning of "ports". Like a 7 port engine or a 3 or 5. What is the difference? But what is it? So what are your suggestions. Please teach me about nitro engines considering all i know is 5 turn motor or 3000 kV.

Also the two engines i am comparing are the Novarossi Plus 28-7/RT and the Novarossi Plus 28-7T
"ROTO" and "PLUS" they are 7 ports

Thanks

A 5 turn motor? Why Novarossi? Is it because they're the most expensive?
I'd look at GO engines, OS engines, or picco engines. Lrp also makes great engines.
Don't be misled by factory horsepower numbers either.

3~5~7 ports mean the number of ports/openings in the engines sleeve.

The difference between the T & RT is the T is bump start only turbo plug & the RT is rotostart turbo plug.

RT uses a rotostarter to start & the T uses a bump box to start.

Picco's are always a solid choice. If you've heard of Savage Sam, I think he won the Australia championships in 2009, he uses Piccos in his MT and truggies

Just a suggestion :)
