Hey,

This is my first post here.

I have a nitro car engine that i have been trying to start for about 2 weeks and just wont but if i over prime the engine it will start burn off any fuel in the carberator but wont respond to any movement of throtle while its running. When running like this it runs at full power.

I have bought new fuel, Glow Plug, Glow Plug Starter & pull start

The engine is a tamiya fs-12ss

Can anyone help?

I think I'm seeing that the engine does not have a LSN (low speed needle) adjustment. Look down in the carb and check the throttle gap. It should be about 1mm. Set you HSN (high speed needle) at 1 1/4 turns open. Turn the HSN clockwise very gently until it bottom out and then open it back up to 1 1/4 turn. Is this a new car and is this your first nitro?

This is my first nitro but its not new i have had it for about 10 years but the pull start broke on it and i never repaired it has been in my boiler cupboard since. before i stored it i drained all the fuel and but some after run oil in it the engine.

Referring to the first reply how do i go about sealing the engine?

thanks for the video after watching i had removed the carb for cleaning before i attemped to start it for the first time but didnt seal it when i put it back on this could be one problem i have will get some sealant tomorrow and try that

I resealed the carb and it started with only 2 pushes of the prime but it stalled after about 4 mins. I have another issue that on idle it wants to pull off at a great speed it does have an LSN but i can't seem to set it i can't see the opening gap

You have to pull the filter off of the carb and look down into the opening. Also i its trying to take off at idle your clutches may be stuck engaged or broken under your clutchbell.
