what is the fastest and cheapest nitro and gas powered I want something faster than mine now mine will do 60 so anything more than 60 is great is there any 100mph gas or nitro rc cars you can buy

What type of nitro truck/car do you have now that's going 60? Have you actually clocked it at 60? I have one of the fastest nitro cars you can buy with a few upgrades and the fastest I have clocked mine is 67. It's a Traxxas jato. It's very much possible to go well over 60 but there are not too many rc's nitro powered you can buy that will do 60+ without upgrades. BTW when I hit 60+ on my jato it isn't the easiest car to steer since the tires are barely touching.

This has to be a joke. Jesus, there is no way I could control a 100mph RC car, not with the $200 radio I have. I would need a VR Helm with a camera mounted on the front of the car to have even a remote chance of not completely destroying it. ROTFLMAO! Went full throttle today with my .21 on two 30 yard passes today and I didn't put a speed gun on it but I would say it was doing about 40 when I let up and that is PLENTY fast for me and an RC car. Where can one even drive a 100mph RC car other than in the desert or on an air strip somewhere?

I agree. 100mph with a rc is insane and I wouldn't even attempt to control it. I know there are plenty who do it but parts are expensive and a crash at 100mph is complete destruction. I'm completely content with my 60 mph car. I have lots of big places around where I live to run mine but I don't believe there is a place I could get over maybe 70-75. I would run out of room or telemetry.

same here would love to see my savage run at 60 but i am more than happy with the 42MPH i get out of it now and that can get twitchy real fast
already snapped a hub carrier at low speed and that was clipping a concrete pillar at low speed warming up my engine (low grip tires and car parks dont mix for me)

OP that POS 1/16 exceed blur that you have will not go much faster than 10MPH maybe a little faster

most main brand reputable rc cars will go stock average 30MPH
such as these, this list is a little out of date but you get the idea, and I'm sure i missed of some good and bad off the list
The A list.
Losi
Traxxas
Team Assosiated
HPI

The B list.
Thunder tiger
Kyosho
Ansmann

Those to avoid
HSP
ACME
Redcat
Exeed

any onroad nitro RC or maybe a jato will be the fastest out of the box but most of them top out around 50-65MPH stock. I'm guessing in order to get up to 100+MPH just like with electric you're going to have to heavily modify one of the aforementioned type of kits although its going to be harder than doing it with an electric because theres not nearly as much room to play with gearing like you have with electrics and gearing is the main thing that makes 100+MPH electrics possible. On top of that its only going to be good for doing something like 1/4 mile speed runs in a straight line as you would not be able to turn an RC kit going that fast. I've seen a couple youtube videos of people that have modified some onroad nitros to do 100MPH (or close to it) but its going to be the opposite of cheap.

I have an exceed blur and I clocked it with a baseball pitch radar gun and it was clocked at 63 that's totally stock go ahead and call bullshit but you don't know until you try it but my x-01 went 101 with the same speed gun on 3s lipos I did it in an empty big open parking lot and u only think itll do 10 hell no I swear it went 63 believe me or not

There's really no such thing as cheap and fast. Like the ol' saying goes, "Speed costs..How fast do you want to spend'?
Why not add a professionally modified engine to what you already have? May be cheaper than buying another car and trying to make if faster

I think you need to have your radar gun calibrated. an XO-1 stock is lucky to hit 100MPH on 6S let alone 3S. On top of that you need a minimum of a 1/4 mile to do 100MPH speed runs. I know from experience that finding a parking lot with 1/4 mile of unobstructed space is almost impossible to do. Especially one that is smooth enough, empty enough, and clear of debris enough to make those kinds of runs.

As for the Blur...most of the stuff I could find on the internet including the manufacturers website says the top speed on the 1/16 blur is about 45-50MPH. Even if it will reach 55MPH thats still 10MPH off what your claiming. These two things combined is what leads me to believe your radar may need to be calibrated.

Cheap and fast go together like a moose and a pineapple- they don't. If you want speed look towards a Traxxas jato (65mph)
or if you really want to splash out how about a Traxxas X0-1? (100MPH) But these are a bit gimmicky and it isn't all about the speed!

to add to that the most accurate reading will most likely be from a gps speedometer that i have seen most guys use to show there tops speed

and personally i don't believe anything anyone posts about tops speed unless someone shows proof ie video showing it make the run and showing the recorded speed but thats me

any one can type keys and clam something, i'm not interested in pissing contest only facts and evidence to backup whats claimed.

also some brands especially the low end brands to avoid inflate their claims of top speed ect

things to take into account when building for speed,

Wheel size - to small fast acceleration low top speed, reverse true for wheel that are too big
engine size - needs high RPMs for speed but also enough torque for the high gearing required for a fast car
gearing - geared to low again fast acceleration low top end, reverse true for to tall gearing
aerodynamics, weight,

with a 1/16 the wheels are going to be too small engine size .07 won't have that much in RPM or torque
looking at youtube videos its not very fast at all no where near there claimed top speed its more of a low end beginner car

in all honest nobody cares if you have a car that only does say 20MPH and want something to go faster this forum is full of people that want to help so you don't need to inflate top speeds etc and most of us have had experience with all size rc cars so know the average top speed of most of them

i have a 1/10 tamiya TGS somewhere in my bedroom that I'm working on in theory it has a top speed of 20-25MPH in reality it probably dose close to 12-15 but its still a fun car to drive and drift i just converted it to FWD from RWD and before that 4WD

its all about having fun and helping eachother out

i dont mean to ramble on it just happens

yeah, cops get all the cool toys...however I hear that its hard to shoot something that small even with a police radar. I have a good friend whos an 18 year vet of the neighboring cities police dept. and thats what he told me when I asked him if he could shoot my 100+MPH Rustler anyway. He said that we'd be better off using a laser to tag it.
