This article appeared in our local newspaper this week.
Its weird to see yourself in the 2nd page.
This is my 2nd store and I will soon be working on the 3rd.

"Well it's about time!" That comment is music to Ed Knapp's ears when people walk into his new Sebastopol outlet. Filling a niche in the local area market was Ed's goal, having discovered that a large percent of InkSale.com 's walk in customers at its 4,000 square-foot Petaluma warehouse were coming from places like Sebastopol, Forestville and Guerneville. "Why should anyone have to drive and sit in traffic for ink and toner cartridges?" he asks.

InkSale.com prices are competitive or in many cases better then Office Depot, making a quick trip to pick up printer, fax and copier supplies all the more attractive. The ink inventory is broad enough to cover 400 different printers and includes compatible and remanufactured cartridges as well as brands from Apple to Xerox. What the Sebastopol store doesn't have in stock, they can transfer from their Petaluma location the next day.

While the website just carries ink products, the new store features all types of printer paper, CD/DVD media and storage options, cables and accessories. There's also a selection of discounted software programs and games that beat Costco's prices. The store offers fax and copy service, UPS shipping, and recycling for used cartridges. The Knapps donate a percentage of the return to local, non-religious charities. "If we're closed, you can even leave the recyclables at the door," adds Ed.

The Knapps' 10-year-old business is a partnership of Ed and his wife Vivian. Ed wants to customize the Sebastopol store's inventory mix to meet customer demand and to supplement rather than compete with local business. "It's all about community access; it's all about value. We're here to stay," Ed says.

Store hours: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

Congats to you, Ed. Lots of luck with the new store. And a big props to you for your charitable donations.

Very cool Ed, but I think it would have been better to have vivian in the picture instead of you, but that is just me. I prefer the ladies to the dudes.

Congrats Ed. Do RCNT members get special deals? #10 ink is pretty expensive these days!

Ed's da bomb! Congrats bro! I know A LOT of hard work went into that. I didn't see my friend for like a month or two!

lol - I still picture the guys busting their asses getting that place in gear for you!

Congrats man! I really am proud of how much you do, but not only that, its how well you do it!

:thankyou:

Congrats on your store!!! Hope it flourishes and makes you filthy stinking rich!!!Lol Its work:sheep: but you will do awesome. Let us know if we can get "RCNT Member discount" lol

LOL congrats man iam glad you are making even MORE money. That RCNT member discount sounds good to me.

It's always good to see the little businessman make it. I hope you have continued success.

Its amazing that we all have a real life apart from this forum.
Thanks for all the encouragement. Lately I feel as if this is me :deadhorse

Its difficult to expand a business beyond your existing comfort level. This is just a pilot store with 3-5 more in the works. If you were to know me as several on the forum do, its all or nothing.

As for this being an advertisement to solicit business from forum members it isn't so. I keep these two parts of my life separate. For the most part, I don't do business with friends. Friends are much to valuable.

Getting this store off the ground successfully has been a milestone for me and I just wanted to share it.

My dad in december just opened an antique store. He had most of his inventory already. All we had to do was get the stuff down there, and set it alll up.

I have a little idea of how much work goes into the setup of a new store. I also have an idea of how much capitol it takes to get setup and moving.

Congratulations on all your EXTREMELY hard work, and investment coming together to get the doors open.

It's also nice to see your local paper support the little guy. I wish you the best.

One hell of an accomplishment! Good luck with your new store!

Great article on your store. Is that you or did you get someone to stand there and waive his arms around??
