i have a question when i start my t-maxx the engine turns and idles it but once i push the gas it dies out its been doing that does any one have any advice to what this could be

thanks

Did you just get this T-maxx? Have you tuned it from factory settings yet? Try and be more specific so we can help, going by what you have said, your engine has not been tuned for performance yet and is running too rich, cmon back with a better explanation and you will get lots of help. here is a link that may help you! http://www.traxxas.com/support/pub/trx_sl_tuning25.htm

well, could be a couple of things: Too rich or too lean on your high speed needle (HSN), too rich or too lean on your low speed needle (LSN), or a combination of any of the above. Now that you're totally confused maybe some of us here can help you better solve your problem!
Normally if when you accellerate the engine bogs down then dies the LSN is too rich.
Normally if when you accellerate the engine revs up for a seconds and then dies the LSN is too lean.
Your LSN affects the amount of fuel entering the engine up to about 1/4 throttle.
Your HSN affects the amount of fuel entering the engine throughout the entire powerband. So if you richen up your HSN you're actually richening up the LSN up some too.
Tell us how your engine responds and maybe someone here can better help you out a bit.

I've had for like 2months and i tuned it perfectly it was taking off fast and never died out but i just got an exhaust deflector and a fuel filter and it was running fine but then all of a sudden i tried to start it and it runs and stays on but once i press the gas it dies emediately

Mine does that too sometimes but if i take it easy for a while and let it warm up it seems to do fine. Which would support Olds97 first i would try a new plug if you say you had it for 2 months. How many times have you changed the glowplug since you got it?

Glow plug life is pretty much dependent on how you tune it. Tune it to rich, it carbons up. Tune it to lean, it frys.

I use about one or two glow plugs a gallon. How much fuel have you run through in those 6 or 7 plugs?

Try doing what sbb4us said. Mine sputters and gags when i try to rush it. Get the engine temp up slowly to around 200 degrees f. If it still freaks on you, i'd try changing the plug.

i have ran a gallon, and two quarts but let me try changing my glow plug thanks for the help

From what I am reading, it sounds like the engine is not getting fuel in the amount it needs (too lean). I would recommend checking your fuel filter for any obstruction or need of cleaning. If the fuel filter is directional, make certain that it is allowing the fuel to flow towards the engine. Directional filters that are put in backwards will retard fuel flow leading to a lean condition.

The exhaust deflector will require a minor tweak to the tuning as it changes the performance characteristics of the engine mildly.

If the filter checks okay, then I would try richening up your HSN about 1/4 turn from what it was before you added the filter and deflector.

The new glo-plug can also help, but it sounds to me more like you have a fuel flow issue.

well which is the right way to put a fuel filter because i have an ofna fuel filter

LOL...most fuel filters are bi-directional. There are only a few out there that are directional. I was not implying that you had it in wrong. Just that you may want to verify that if you have a directional filter, that you may want to check to see if it is in wrong.

Without a part number or a link on the filter you have, I can only assume that it is bi-directional.
