Hello I m new to the world of Nitro Cars. I am going to order the HPI RS4 SS kit ( I am going to put it together my self so i can become familiar with the car and its parts) I would like to know a good radio to get . I would like to get a good radio to start with so when i decide to move up to a competition level car I already have a great Radio...

The first question to ask is what is your budget? One answer you will get a lot is "check out the JR XS3". You can get one for around 200-220. It is a sythesized radio and reciever, meaning there are no crystals, you can use any of the channels in in either the 27 or 75 megahertz. I would recommend the 75 since you have access to many more channels than the 27. The radio is nice, it has a 5 model memory- you can store 5 different cars/trucks or 5 different setups for one car, for different tracks and driving conditions. It also comes with a metal geared servo that would give enough torque for the steering of the RS4. The other servo would be good for the throttle. All in all it is a good radio setup at a great price. It also has almost every feature you would need and a few you probably wont use.

I was looking at the XS3 I am willing to spend around 300 bucks ..I have another question What about the Nitro TC3 would that be a better car for a newb than the Rs43 thanks...

dont know about the hpi, but from what I have read about it,I would pic the tc3 over it for sure, as far as a good radio goes, I just bought the hitec LYNX3D for $129, this radio was almost $300 a few months ago, If you can find one for under $150 I would definetly go for it, its an awsome radio, its own battery and charger is a great feature, 10 model memory plus lots more!

I have the FUTABA 3PK. Great frigin radio. 10 model memory plus comes with 1 receiver that has a failsafe built in for a nitro car.
Cost about 300 beans. Tc3 is the choice for most parking lot bashers. great, tough car.
I have one for sale, but if its your first nitro car, go for brand new!!!
