well got me a new warhead evo for x-mas,and it is wearing me out i have done all that the manual and cd tell's me to do about breaking it in,and it is just fighting me all the way iam haveing a hard time getting it started some time's it will take me 2/4 min's before it will run and when it does start sometime's i can get it to go 10 feet before it will shut off or it will shut off as soon as i give gas and some time's it will shut off as soon as i pull the glow starter,and i have to hold the brakes the hole time or it will take off on it own,iam useing a drill to start it the guy at the shop said that all i need,please help iam about to :surrender
 
First off welcome.

Have you set all the needles the way they ask ( if they tell you in the manual or CD) Hae you checked the gap in the carb? It should be open about 1mm when on break and idle.
 
no a have not checked the gap but i will,any tip's on breaking it in,and is my 9.2 drill ok to use to start it.
 
help my son broke Hub & Spindle on his mlst can anybody tell me where I can get aluminum ones that he will not break when he crashes

probably running rich. I had a warhead evo for about a week. There was an air leak in the engine. I just packed it up and got a refund. Just set the hsn and lsn back to factory settings and try again. Did you make sure the hsn @ lsn were set to factory presets before break in?

the break in on my lst2 this xmas was giving me trouble too, but i just keep fidgeting with it and finally got it to run good. may take awhile.
 
how do i find out if there is leak in the engine,i set the hsn @ lsn to what the EVO manual said to do,can someone tell me if useing a drill is ok to crank the engine or do i need the buy the battery for the kwik-starter thanks for your help i am going to try it again this weekend.

The drill should be fine. After setting everything back to factory what happended? Will It start? In your first post what you were describing leads me to believe the engine is set to rich. At factory setting for the hsn @ lsn My truck was running so rich that giving it any amount of throttle it would just die. However My truck shipped from the factory with a problem / airleak So I shipped it back.

When the trucks runs do you see trail of blue smoke? When Ideling is there fuel spitting out of the exaust? If so then the engine is set too rich. You should really get a temp gun before you finish break in. Duratraxx makes one that can be picked up for around $30 after tax at you're lhs. The temp gun is a good investment for break in especially if its your firs nitro break in.

My first nirto was a warhead evo so I'm not exactly an expert at this. However I have been reading alot on several different forums.

well back on the evo iam still haveing a hard time to get it to start,i have to blow air in the fuel line and even then it will take 2-3 min for it to start,went i get it to start it will run for about 1-2 min's and then will shut down iand i have to start all over again,it like the engine will not take the gas on it own.
 
I'm no expert myself but if you think the engine will not take gas on it's own then there might not be enought pressure in the tank.Try to prime the tank by puting your finger over the pipe for a few secs when trying to start it.
 
well got hooked up with a guy at the shop where i bot the evo,told him what was going on he said i can fix's that,two full turn's in on the low-speed needle and she's running great,just got the last breakin run done now we can have some fun thanks for all your help:)
 
i had the same problem with my t-maxx 3.3.......the problem i had was that the head was coming loose.......i took the cap off the head and found that the head bolts were loose .......runs just like it di when i took it out the box.....oh if this helps...put all of the adjusting needles back to stock!

Appreciate your volunteering information, but please read the whole thread before you post. He has already solved his issue (see the post right before your own).
 
I'm glad you got your warhead to work. it's duratrax right? i have a duratrax raze and the manual gave me the wrong LSN setting. It was rich by about 5 full turns. I guess duratrax is bad about that or somthing.
