RC Driving Style
Hey guys I'm new to this forum and to the rc world. My names Shane, I'm from Colorado. I recently picked up a nitro tc3:D, I believe it is the factory model. it should be ready to go besides electronics. I'm looking for some input on what I should buy. I'm thinking of a Hitec Agressor 3ds for a controller. It comes with a receiver, and a hitec 325hb servo. I was thinking of using the 325hb for throttle and a hitec hispeed 625mg for steering. Is a starter box my only option for starting? If so I'm thinking of a ofna on-road starterbox Will this setup work? and do you guys think this is a decent setup? I'm trying to do this on a budget but still have a nice setup. I'm most likely not doing any racing, more parking lot bashing. Also it has a rex .12 engine. I can't find much online about this engine except maybe it used to be a brand off novarossi? any info would be appreciated! thanks!

I'd use a HiTec HS-645MG. It's got a bit more power to turn under power. You could also use the same for the throttle/brake. I used the digital version (HS-5645MG) on a buggy and the same servo on my TC4.

Welcome to the forum Shane! Good to have you.

I think what you stated would be a fine setup for starting out and for parking lot bashing. I have a Factory Team (FT) NTC3 that i run. I've got a 625MG on steering, a bit faster transit time than the 645,(no offence Hamz) and a standard servo on throttle/brake. I also run a failsafe and a 5-cell receiver pack. I've never had any problems with this setup. All i ever done was parking lot racing but it got very competitive between me and the other 5 or 6 guys that was there.

I would recommend getting the failsafe and receiver pack as soon as money would allow. All it takes is for your 'AA' batts to dump and you have a runaway car. One bad wreck will about pay for the failsafe and pack.

Good luck and enjoy

I run the HS5645MG in my TC-4, because I had an extra sitting around, NB, so it's no big deal. I had to build the VTA on the cheap.
