this finally came thursday. still waiting on the rest of the equipment to start the build. goodies to arrive yet are a OS VZ-B V-spec, futaba 3pm, and hitec digital servos 5925mg & 5945mg, already have the jammin JP-1 pipe.

A "Luxury" Nitro car? :) Does it have leather?

Very cool, looking forward to hearing about the build and performance.. Have never seen one of these in person..

no.. no leather, i think it has an onboard navigation system.. that tells you when to slow down.. and brake for each turn.. haha just messin :) good luck with the build.. keep us all informed on all of it..

I believe your the first on this site to get one.
Please take detailed photos of everything for us to gawk at.

I hate you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! just kidding, I sold my MBX 5 to buy one of those, and if I stop burning stuff down I might actually have enough money to buy one. Congrats man and I am jealous as hell.

are those allen drivers??

yup they come stock with the kit!

X-Ray supplies Huddy drivers in their kits.
I was surprised to get a driver in my M-18.
How are the directions? If there anything like the other X-Ray books it will be a dream to build.

thanks for the compliments guys, if you want any specific pictures just ask. things i have noticed already. all plastic is off tree's and prethreaded, some sub assemblies are prebuilt, like the front brace and the steering servo saver. all captured ballcups have thier ball preinstalled. each bag of parts is a progressive step of the build. things not advertised that are included are 2 different weights of diff oil, and iirc 2 weights of shock oil. which is nice since i see a lot of kits compromise by sending 1 weight of shock oil and telling you to use a different piston, instead of a proper setup. this is gonna be a fun build, all the rest of my stuff should be here by next thur-fri. we'll see if i can wait that long to start...........

Nice buggy, what did it end up costing you I am in the market for a buggy kit and since it is looking like they will never release the new Storm the XRAY is looking better and better. It seems you are the first with this buggy so keep us updated on it.

well buggy was 620 shipped from hongkong on ebay, motor was 300 and radio stuff i got at cost since a friend works in a LHS. radio stuff was 300 for 3pm with no servos, and 2 digital 5925mg's and 1 digital 5945mg (second throttle servo is for my swift). i already have starterbox's and stuff, so that kept cost down a little, but not much as you can see.

Ouch, as much as I want a high end racer I just can't see dishing out a grand and a half. Wish I could afford to dish out that kind of cash, but I'll just drool over all of yours!

well it was tough even for me, but, I'm an impulse shopper so here it sits. i also dont have a significant other to answer to, its just me and my son. I'm still keeping my swift to bash with to try and save wear and tear on this one. my local track just started running buggys this year and usually has about 3-6 8scales every week. at our trophy race about 10 showed up, so the class is growing and hopefully will be better next year. it was all the excuse i needed since I've wanted one since i was about 14 and the kyosho burns cars were out.

That looks like a really nice kit. I'll be following the build as well. I have inlaws that live in Lancaster, PA... Next time I'm up, maybe we could do a little R/C'in...

The XB8 is a very nice buggy, one guy at one at the races last sat. and if he's there tommorrow I'll try and get some pics of it. It's pretty durable, and just as fast as the Kanai's, but I'd choose a K3 or 777 spec.1 over the Xb8 however...

that would be cool, there are a couple nice tracks in the surrounding counties, and some good bashing spots around here. i have yet to find a nice bmx track though.

Not many BMX tracks around....maybe not but the track at Extreme looks interesting. Once(if) I get the Storm broken in we will go up there and check it out. But yeah there are some very good tracks around here, looks like PSI and I are the only ones in this area, would be nice to get some more people in the area!!

I started building mine last Tuesday. Couple of hours Tuesday, couple of hours Wednesday, couple on Thursday, finished it up on Friday.

This has to be the easiest buggy to build. If you have ever built a Mugen (I've built 2 X5's and 2 XR's along with 2 Kyoshos) you would really appreciate it. There was not one single misaligned part and all the parts move freely. Everything is already taken off the parts tree and seperated into little bags for each step. Little things like the servo saver already put together, ball ends together, etc. really make it easy. And the hexes that come with the kit are top notch. Absolutely no apparent wear on any of them after building the kit. This is a well thought out buggy and highly adjustable. Now all I have to do is get it on the track to see what it's got.

good to hear, i started a build thread for mine because i could resist it no longer. last thing i did tonite was mount the rear wing mount.
