OK, got my son a HPI MT, came with a Duratrash Streak and a Speed Jem motor. Ihave a 1500 pack and a couple 2400 packs for it. But this thing is SLOW!!!! Dont know the gearing on it,but it has little punch, and zero top[ end. I'm looking for a cheap motor for it,nothing wild, just something a LITTLE faster. He gets KILLED going down the tracks straight. Any links to a $30 or so motor?

I also have a 2450 li-po pack, 3 cell, 11.1v. 10-12C high discharge. Is there ANY way to hook this thing up safely? Some kink of limiter, like they use on li-po Rx packs??

I do have a 14x2 Reedy mod motor, but I don't know if you speed control can handle it.
If yes, I can sell it to you if you wish.
Very little use on the motor.

Chameleon2 or the reedy qaud mag both ar 19t motors that cost 35$.. Very fast for that turn motors.. And get rid of that 1500 and get a gp3000 ni-mh sport pack( 25$) and you will see some great speeds and killer run times.

LOL, the 1500 is a practice pack, and I have the 2400's so that will be what the kid uses unless he really gets into this.

Dont think the el-cheapo speedo will handle that motor. PM what ya want for it anyway, maybe give me a reason to upgrade that as well.

He has a ESC capable of down to 12 turns. If ya bothered to read, you'd know at least that he has a ESC...

Cvec7, Don't be an ass!

Sorry I didn't research it. It could've been mechanical. I don't mess with electrics anymore. You don't have to be so rude about it, just because I didn't take the time to research his setup.

oh well, given that I'd go with a trinity speedgem diamond. 12 turns and plenty of punch.

If your esc is capable of :puke: 12 turns you should be okay. My Rooster held it and it's rated for 15 turns, just make sure you get enough air to the heat sinks

Not trying to be an ass but this is why your getting crapped on...You don't read before you post. The esc has a limit of 12turns, not 14

The streak is a good tough racing esc for a youngster. If there is no motor limit in his class I would agree with a trinity 12t. I ran one in a rustler before and it held up very good for the price.

LOL, dont go shatting on my thread, look that thread up in the Free for all

Thanks for the help guys.
