New to SC, what do you think?

Well I bit the bullet after a day running an SC10 and a Traxxas Slash at the local indoor track. I just picked this up on Ebay but I am a TOTAL noobie when it comes to the new stuff. i used to race battery RC10s back in the 90's and had a Revo for a while now I'm back to battery and things have changed. What do I need to get this running. I will be running it at the local slippery clay track indoor. Let me know if I got a good deal or this thing is crap? LOL. How are the aftermarket parts, decent?

Baja Team Associated SC10 Short Course Racing Truck Roller

Up for auction is a Team Associated SC10 Short Course race truck. It is a roller and no electronics are included. However, the steering servo is included. It is the Associated SHV1504MG Metal Gear Steering Servo.

Associated has yet to release a "Factory Team" Edition of the SC10, but if they did, it would most likely have the features that I have added to this truck. She's got a TON of upgrades, is extremely durable and handles like a dream!!!

This truck is adult owned and was thoroughly cleaned after every race. The electronics were held in place by velcro which makes removal for cleaning a snap. I will include some for your electronics.

This truck was never "bashed" but it does have some scratches on the chassis. The chassis has never been broken or repaired in any way.

This truck was run with a powerful LRP Brushless set up (NOT Included). It has a Factory Team B4 ball differential transmission (original transmission is included) and is definetely able to handle the power of any brushless system that you choose to install.

The VW Baja Bug Body is included. It is a Pro-Line Body and made with extremely thick .060 Lexan. It's much more thick & durable than the stock bodies. It has body post holes for 2 different chassis' & there are some scratches on it, but it's still VERY presentable and looks GREAT!!!! Just check out the photos!

This truck is my favorite, but my priorities have changed and unfortunately I've got to let someone else enjoy it.

......yes this too much for you too play with ...you should have just went down to your LHS and droped 200.00 on a new RTR kit ....anything you buy used you will have to rebuild sooner then you think...

Seems like a good deal. As for the Castle Creations/sidewinder, it is one of the best mod motor setups you can get for the SC10. It will give you all of the power you want and need. Gear it with the 87t spur and 18t pinion to start and adjust from there.
