just got my first rc nitro car from redcat racing nice car liking it so far came pre tuned mostly got it running good i believe kinda like my old 2 cycle yz 125 from back in the day it fly's tank of fuel lasts about 15 min and not hot where it will restart on it's own but cool enough to touch but wouldn't wanna pick it up does this sound right ?? :\:\:\:\:\:\

its been awhile since I've temp tuned an engine, but i believe 250-280? is the range you want it in? basically if you spit on the head and it instantly evaporates its too hott. you shouldn't be able to really touch the engine at all

You should check your manual.. It will tell you what the Engines running temperature should be.

proper temp for a golden lion nitro engine 18 or 21

The proper temp for an sh.21 or 18 is 132 degrees F. If you let your engine get to 250-280 it will seize up and possibly lock up. Its extremely important to abide by this rule on a golden lion sh.21-18. I've had a redcat since they started making the earthquake 3.5 which is the absolute best nitro I've ever owned per dollar with a few secrets! Still using the same one I've had for almost 2 years with ove 300 tanks. Good luck and try to get an earthquake 3.5 then message me and ill tell you how to turn it into a race winner!!!!
