I am planning on getting my first nitro rc truck within the next week or so. I only plan to use whatever one I get for backyard bashing and such. What I am planning to get is either a Tamiya TNX or a HPI Savage 25, maybe a HPI RS4 Nitro MT 2. If any could give me some good insight as to which is best for bashing and list others besides the ones above. Some info on each would be helpful as well and would be appreciated :)

you really need to check out the for sale forum. Lots of trucks to buy.

Like mine.

Search is your friend...Do a search for "new rc" and youll find alot of good stuff

Out of them listed I think the Savage would be the way to Go, the Tamiya got good reviews as far as I saw though, just seem to look cheasy to me for some reason.

Go with the Savage or MGT they are very durable trucks

I depends on what your looking to do with the truck. If you want speed and handeling
with off road capabilities, go with the HPI MT.
This will give you the versatility to do on and off road with more car like feel.
This way you can decide later if you like on or off road better.
You'll see where you spend more time. (street or dirt)
Then later make your decision.
If you know what you want already, and are asking about off road bashing, I'd go with the Savage.

Savage or the MGT would be my 2 choices for bashing. Very strong and fast

Thanks for all the input you gave me :)

After all the forums I read including these forums and talking to others I came to my decision.

I went to my LHS and picked up a Tamiya TNX with the needed accessories.

I haven't done anything with it as of yet, prob after work tomorrow weather permitting I will do engine break in and such.

i hope you got some extra spur gears,a friend of mine keeps stripping his out and there likw 17.00 for 2

hb1111 your friends spur gear stripping prob can be fixed by eliminating the chassis flex. If he goes and gets this part and installs it that should fix his problem.

Got this info from another forum I belong to, figured I would pass it along

get the savage id say I've heard alot of stories about people bashing and that they hold up pretty well

Guys, he already got a TNX no need to continue to insert your opinion. I'm curious to know how the TNX holds up to bashing so keep us updated.

I will bOOm as my first bashing will be today sometime and also fine tuning the engine. I did the break-in yesterday afternoon then went golfing with a friend.

Having probs keeping engine running :(

Well went over to my aunts who has a HUGE yard and was going to run my truck. I got it all setup, filled the fuel tank and did all the rest and such. I proceeded to go and start the engine after priming it and it started fine but when I went to give it gas it stalled. Restarted engine and let it idle for a min then gave it gas and it stalled again. I let it sit for a few mins then tried to restart and it wouldn't so let it sit for like 10 mins. I got engine restarted then let it idle for a min or two then gave it gas and it stalled once more. After that I had to give up as it was starting to rain outside.
