Edit: I had to edit. Because I get side tracked doing 3 things at once. And blabbered on like I was drunk. Spelling kinda resembled it too.
I started out a few months ago building a 2.5 chassis to 3.3 specs. I was going to run a dynamite .19 on it. I stopped my build thread while waiting on parts. But, in the time waiting, I run into an old buddy that had bought a 2.5 off eBay last year.
When I found out he had a nitro, I got pretty pumped. Because I like getting together and running nitros with my buddies. Anyways, he couldn’t get it running. I told him I could and got the truck from him.
I tore into the truck and while it was a cool ride, it had been setting awhile and wasn’t well taken care of. So, the little tlc he said it needed turned into a bunch of work. In the meantime, I got an idea to give him the 2.5 I was building.
So, I did. But, before I did, I took some of the things I wanted back off and decided I’d build a 3.3. Hence my thread Friday. But, I was digging through my boxes of parts Sunday and Whallah!!!! A 3.3 chassis. I salvaged the rpm true trac rear arms, my dynamite mach 2, and the battery and receiver boxes for this.
Say ELLO to my little friend!!!! Yeah!!!!! I’m going to put the tank on it, install the electronics, and bolt that beautiful red motor to the chassis tomorrow. Then pull my hair out waiting on the servo that’s supposed to be here Friday.
I’m going to run sledge tires on it because I’m out of money and it’s what I got. But, I’ll likely leave them on it anyways as they really increase top end of a tmaxx. Plus, I got to finish my revo 3.3 build this summer and I’ve got some cash I still got to spend on it.
I bought a clear body and intend to paint it ocean blue. Put the window stickers on it and run it that way. It should be a pretty ride.
Anyways, this is how it sets right now. Only thing I’d do different if I could is use the factory screws. I’ve had to use a lot of stainless steel bolts in this build. And, they certainly strip easier. Other than that, I’m pretty happy with it. And, am excited to get it finished. Hopefully the servo gets here quickly.
I’ll post pics of it once I get the body painted up and the servo on it. Can’t wait to get it broke in and run some fuel through it. I ordered a gallon of master basher last week so, it’s going to get some run time!
I post pics as I get them and a video or two once it’s broken it. I'm pumped.
