Hi there. I'm new to these nitro/electric rc cars. My boss talked me into getting one. I liked the short course trucks the most after doing some research and got the 4x4 slash RTR w/2.4ghz and a venom 7cell 5000 nimh. Now I just ordered some tools for my truck but I want to know what else i might need in getting started with upgrades and parts. I plan on getting the pro-line suspension kit and a jconcepts body. I've heard some parts break down. Also wat do i need glues, oil, and debonder for. And what are the procedures on changing out parts/upgrades and tires/rims. and how do u tune your trucks

Congrats on the new rig! Are you just going to be bashing or will you be racing on the track?

I think but I'm not sure but that proline kit is for the 2wd I think! dont " " me on that!
Look up Steve Slayden and his setup for the 4x4 It will get you were you need to go and then some!!
Order you a center diff, Sway bar kit, new tires and rims! That will get you started but look at Steve's setup !
rcboca.com has both is stock if you can't get them at your LHS!!

OOH and Welcome to the Dark side!!!

Personally, until you start racing, Id stick with the stock tires. Once you spend the coin on some nicer tires with great traction, chances are they will be a soft compound that bashing, especially if you take it on the road, will not be kind too.

yeah i talked to my boss and he said just stick with everything stock for now until we see how the truck runs. he said make sure the tires come with foam inserts which i looked up and look like they do but doe anyone know if they do for sure. he said i wont really need to replace parts unless if i run into walls and things like that. i just looked up bashing and it says backyard fun and things of those nature which ill be doing. i see the protrac kit wont work on 4x4 slash. now wat do u guys do with these oils, glue, and debonder and wat r the pre- and post-run requirements (maintenance). i mean wat chemicals do u need to clean the car after running it? sorry if i ask a lot of questions just new thats all

Simple Green mixed with WD40 for cleaning. Also WD 40 on bearings etc etc helps with rust if you happen to run and get wet !!
