w00T! i just picked up my new rs4 evo from the store the other day!! unfortunatley i bought it a night and when i woke up there was 12 inches of snow on the ground  . aside from that i just can't wait to run it. do you guys prefer a different break-in method, the hpi one seems kinda weak. oh, and whats that little square plastic thing by the engine? ill post pics later.:D

just try this free web i made, i dunno how to make the stupid thing work.

I love that mustang body!

I'm not sure what that plastic bit is, sorry.

Are you going to use it for drifting?

Very nice car! The little black plastic square is for the pull starter. Pull the string out, slide the string through that slit in the square, then release the pull starter, the T handle will then rest in the middle of the square.

Exactly. Its kinda weird that they put that part on because the Evo comes with RotoStart if I remember right. I took it off my SS when I got the roto. They must include it in case you want to switch.

Ah, I didn't realize the EVO came with a roto start, I have an original RS4 3 rtr. So mine came with a pull start. Jerry, if you are not going to use a pull start you can take that square off.

ok thanks ill do that right now.

all done, pretty easy just one screw. looks a little cleaner :)

That's funny I was just looking at that square thing on my evo+ today and I was thinking it was for the pull start but wasn't sure.

I used the break in that hpi stated in the manual maybe I ran a couple more tanks but I just finished up my first gallon and it runs really good.

ok, so today i picked up a fail-safe from the hobby store. i got it all set up, but i dont know where to put it. where would you guys put it?

k, nvm i was able to just barely stuff that thing in the battery case.

yea on the break in i always quadruple the mininmum i idle four tanks then 4 tanks at 1/4 throttle 1/2 tank for 4 tanks 3/4 for 4 tanks then all out good to go
